Chapter 871 A Significant Breakthrough

Jude was gradually getting tired of explaining everything repeatedly to the curator. Though it was no

doubt her duty was to perfectly solve the case as soon as possible, it was quite unreasonable for the

curator to keep blaming Jude for everything.

Seeing Jude was forced by the curator into a dilemma, Maximilian intervened and said, "Sir, I don't

think it is appropriate for you to be so aggressive towards our policewoman officer. She has promised

that she would work on this case, and you'd better be grateful and patient for that."

The curator turned to Maximilian with his teeth gritted and shouted, "And who the hell are you? I guess

it is nothing to do with you, stranger!"

The aggressive manner of him had sickened Maximilian and Jude and gradually drove them out of

patience. Jude raised her head with a cold countenance in her eyes and answered, "Excuse me, he is

my friend, Mr. curator. And since it seems that you're not so satisfied with me working on this case, I

guess I'd better hand it over to someone else whom you could trust."

It was obvious that Jude's words had panicked the curator. Anxiety and impulsiveness had previously

possessed his mind, and now he finally realized that it was not a proper way to ask for help.

He then bowed his head and apologized, "Please don't, Miss. Jude. I apologize for being rude

previously, and you have my trust in this case."

Jude answered plainly, "Very well, It seems that we have successfully reached an agreement." Jude

chose to forget about his perfectly awful attitude towards her and focus again on the theft case.

"Oh, It's so kind for you to accept my sincere apology, dear Miss. Jude. Besides," The curator said and

half turned to Maximilian with a squint at him, "I'm wondering why you bring along this ordinary man

with you here."

"Excuse me, he is by no means an ordinary man. You can say that he is a professional I brought here

for extra assistance, and trust me, he is even better than me at bringing this case to an end."

Maximilian was a little surprised by the sudden compliment of Jude, and he chose to respond with

silence. The curator then turned to Maximilian face-to-face in a close distance and looked at him

critically up and down, thinking that maybe what Jude said was right.

He then grinned and said to Maximilian in a flattering manner, "Oh, it's so nice to have you here, dear

mister. I'm sorry talking to you in that way before."

"Save it. Just lead the way, and let's get this shit done as soon as possible." Maximilian rolled his eyes

and felt sick to speak with him anymore.

Though the smiling was still hanging on the curator's face, he was actually ignited by the attitude of

Maximilian and sweared to himself that this guy must be driven out of his museum immediately once

everything was done.

Though Maximilian understood clearly what's in the curator's mind, he chose to ignore it and focus on

his mission. Jude, holding Maximilian's hand, led him to where the painting was gone, and Maximilian

was wondering whether he could solve the case successfully, since he was not an expert on this kind

of affair.

The first scene that came into his view was the professional security system, which occurred to him

that rarely would an ordinary theft ever have the chance to break through such solid defence and

secretly take away the painting, unless he knew clearly about everything of the museum.novelbin

Jude was still the same: the situation was extremely urgent, yet she could hardly get herself out of the

dilemma. With her head lowered down, she sincerely wished that the man she brought here could help

her out.

Finally, she made up her mind and turned to Maximilian, "Any clue?"

"Yes, and things are a little complicated." Answered Maximilian plainly, with his head bowed as if he

was pondering something.

"What? What do you mean by that?." Jude felt hope again to hear the words of Maximilian, while was

also confused by his equivocal response.

"What I want to say is that," Maximilian slowly raised his head and answered, "enemy was not from the

outside, but from the inside of this museum."

"Bull shit! How could this even happen! Or are you saying that the case is due to my inability of

management?" Hearing the words of Maximilian, the curator shouted angrily.

Maximilian squinted at the curator and answered, "I'm just making reasonable assumptions, and I'm

also now wondering what makes you over-react to that." His instinct was telling him that something was

wrong with this curator.

For Jude, she actually was curious about what made Maximilian believe so, since it was not quite

understandable for her that someone working for the museum would ever steal things from the place

that he worked for.

Maximilian, looking at the pondering face of Jude, said, "The security system here is exceptionally

advanced, and I bet that even the most skilled thief in the world would sigh and head his way back

seeing such all-rounded defence. So the question is: who can the one be if he could just break through

such a security system and take away the painting without leaving any traits at the spot?"

Hearing that, the curator burst into laughter and sneered, "Well, well, well. I appreciate your effort, while

it's a pity that we couldn't accept such conclusion without any practical evidence. I suggest that you

should leave this to the professionals and get the hell out of my place!"

"So, you're not going to trust me, aren't you? What if I really pick up the thief from your men?" Said

Maximilian, smiling.

The curator crossed his arms, curled his lips and said casually, "Suit yourself, 'Sherlock'."

"But first, I need you to gather all your men here right now." Maximilian said, smiling as usual.
