Chapter 1594

"What secret?" Ernest asked in surprise.

Leah said with some embarrassment, "Yeah, remember how I wrote a week's worth of drafts?Actually, I am preparing to go to England."

Hearing this, Ernest was stunned. "You mean you had plans to go to England before this?"

What a surprise.

"Yeah, I've always wanted to go. I want to tour around and have some fun for a week." Leah feltawkward just looking at him.

"Are you sure it's as simple as a mere holiday?" Ernest recalled how Leah had once confessed thatshe fell in love with him at first sight, so he couldn't help but jokingly tease, "You wanted to see me,don't you?"

Leah mustered up all the courage she had, looked at him, and nodded.

Ernest felt his chest tighten as his gaze trembled.

"This silly girl."

Leah then continued, "Well, I told you I fell in love with you at first sight. I really miss you, but youdon't seem like the affectionate type. So, I thought

I'd head up to London and remind you of my existence."

"To be honest, I didn't know how you felt. I can't tell if you like me or not. But either way, I know I likeyou, and I want to see you. I just want to give it my all while I can."

"Unfortunately, I got sick so I didn't manage to go. But then you came back for the funeral. I guessit's fate."

Ernest reached out to pull Leah into his arms. He hugged her tightly and sighed deeply. "I'm sorry,Leah!"

"Why are you apologizing?" Leah asked in confusion.

"Honestly, I've been wanting to contact you for a while now. But every time I thought about doing so,I didn't know what to say. I was afraid of being too attracted to you," Ernest said seriously.

Leah probably had no idea at all. She had a sort of charm about her that easily attracted the eyes ofmany.

She looked up at his handsome face and smiled gently. "Me too. I always look at my phone, butyou've never sent me a text. Thankfully, it's fine now. Can we video call everyday from now on?"

"Of course, we must," Ernest said genuinely before continuing, "At any time, no matter the hour, even if I'm asleep, you can call me whenever you miss me."

"This girlfriend's treatment really is nice," Leah exclaimed. "If I had known earlier, I would'veconfessed to you long ago. Now I've wasted a precious few months' time."

Ernest chuckled. "Well, I guess that's just our destiny."novelbin

"That's true. If I had confessed earlier, maybe you would have been afraid of me," Leah stuck outher tongue shyly.

The two of them talked on and on. It was a very joyous exchange of conversation. Both of themunderstood each other's thoughts and emotions.

Meanwhile, Hogan dejectedly returned home from Leah's. As soon as he reached the staircase tohis building, he saw a slender figure with a big backpack squatting by the entrance.

She was a very pitiful and lonely looking girl.

He was quite taken aback and asked softly, "Rowane, why are you here?"

The girl kneeling on the ground suddenly looked up. When she saw Hogan, she immediatelysmiled.

Her smile was beaming as she stood up slowly. She was a bit off balance, probably from squattingfor too long. Her legs seemed to have fallen asleep.

Her expression was a little ambiguous, and somewhat sad looking. She whispered, "Hogan, I amhere to see you. I shouldn't have lost my temper at you yesterday. It was my fault, and I'm sorry. This morning I came, but no one answered the door. Your neighbor told me you had already goneout. So I decided to wait here for you. Fortunately, I managed to run into you."

After apologizing, she grinned. Her expression was very adorable. Hogan stared at her, his thoughtsswirling in his mind. Eventually, he said in a solemn tone, "I'm not mad at you."

"Really? I really thought you were furious. I couldn't sleep for an entire night just worrying about it. Iwas anxious to come over and apologize."

"I'm not angry." Hogan came closer and stood by the entrance.

"I know you don't like it when I talk about Leah. But she... Nevermind. It was my fault. I promise I'llapologize to her when I see her, okay?"

"There's no need to apologize. You didn't say anything wrong. It's true that she has a boyfriend,"Hogan replied as he opened the door to show Rowane in.

Rowane was stupefied by his response. She stared at him dazedly. There was a subtle hint of joyunder her eyes.

"What did you just say? Leah has a boyfriend? How old is he?"

Hogan furrowed his brows. He really didn't like the way she was talking. He turned to look at herwith a sharp gaze and said, "He's about the same age as me. He's not an old man like you said atall."

"Huh, it's not an old man?" She widened her eyes in surprise.

"Please, I hope you won't say stuff like that anymore. Leah isn't who you think she is. She is yoursister. I wish you would think more highly of her. Stop being so passive aggressive with me andtelling me things like she is dating some old geezer. Your words are hurtful, do you understandme?"

"Okay, I understand. So, she's dating a guy around our age, huh? That's great. Is he good looking?"Rowane shut the door behind her, then stared expectantly at Hogan.

He nodded. Picturing the handsome guy in his head, Hogan had to admit that he was attractive."Yeah, he is."

Rowane frowned and stared at Hogan carefully. Suddenly, she noticed the injury on his chin. Shequickly rushed over and asked, "Hogan, what happened to your chin?"

Rowane reached out to touch it.

He was a little embarrassed and immediately shook his head. He pulled her hand away and said,"Nothing, don't worry about it. Rowane, you'd better go home now."

"Hogan, what's wrong with you?" She looked at him and said with a tearful expression, "Do you hateme?"

"No, look, I'm just tired. I want to rest." Hogan had no energy to deal with this. "Just go home."

Rowane pouted her lips and said, "Okay, you rest. I'll take my leave then."

She turned around and left, not paying any more attention to Hogan. Next, she headed straight toLeah's place.

When she knocked on the door, both Ernest and Leah were shocked. Leah got up to see who itwas.

When she saw that it was Rowane, she immediately walked away. She had no intention of openingthe door.

Ernest asked in a low voice, "Who is it?"

"Rowane," Leah whispered. "She's my younger sister."

Ernest was stunned. "Aren't you going to open the door?" "No." Leah shook her head. "She'll leavein a while."
