Celeste really didn't expect him to say something like that, which surprised her a lot. It seemed thathe wasn't as strong-willed as she thought.
Celeste was joyous.
Gary and Celeste only went back at night. Celeste saw Janice sitting on the lobby's couch as theyreturned to the hotel.
Upon noticing them, Janice immediately walked toward them with a smile and said, "Hey, you guysare back."
After sending out the message, Celeste didn't receive Janice's reply anymore. She was amazed tosee Janice was waiting for them in the hotel lobby.

Seeing that Celeste looked at her magnanimously, Janice smiled and said, "Thank you, Celeste.Flynt was very nice. We had a lot of fun. He told me to tell you he has left."
Hearing that Flynt had left, Celeste felt a little sorry for what happened that day. After all, it did seemimpolite and inconsiderate.
"Okay," Celeste nodded slightly.
Gary put his arm around Celeste's shoulder, ignoring Janice, and said, "Let's head upstairs and getsome rest."

"Wait," Janice stopped them.
When Celeste and Gary turned their heads around in unison, they saw Janice smiling awkwardly asshe asked, "Um, Can I have a few words with Celeste alone?"
Gary frowned slightly and said, "Why?"
"Why don't you head upstairs first." Celeste said, "It's probably something between us girls."
"I don't think there's a need for that." Gary said, "Let's just head upstairs."
Celeste didn't say anything; she just stared at him.
Gary frowned but gave in at the end. Helpless, he said dotingly, "Alright, I'll head up and take ashower first. But if you're still not back after I'm done, then I'll come down and take you away."
"Sure," Celeste nodded.
Gary left without looking at Janice at all.
Janice pursed her lips. She invited Celeste to sit down as soon as Gary left.
Both of them sat in the lobby.
She wasn't sure what Janice was going to say. She just thought that she had something to say, butthere wasn't any need for it.
Celeste wasn't dumb; she naturally knew her message got to Janice. Perhaps she really hadfeelings for Gary. Otherwise, she wouldn't bear Gary's disdain and mockery.
"Miss Simpson, if you have anything to say, just lay it all out," Celeste said.
Janice looked up with a smile, then said, "you're quite a straightforward person, Miss Celeste."
"There's no need to waste time," Celeste said, "I believe you must have your reasons for coming toScotland alone. It requires courage. Not every girl could do it."
Janice was startled. She laughed self-mockingly, "It's true. I do like Gary very much."
"I can see that. Thanks for telling the truth." Celeste said.
"I am not an unscrupulous person. I was quite confident that I had a chance. But I didn't know hehas a girlfriend he loves deeply, which surprised me a lot." Janice was quite honest.
Celeste nodded and admitted, "It's true that we kept this matter to ourselves. I don't blame you fornot knowing. I can only apologize."
Janice shook her head and said, "Yeah, I know now, but he doesn't know my feelings for him. Overthe years, I've been thinking that maybe it's not that he doesn't know, it's just he just doesn't botherto know."
Celeste was rather uneasy, but Janice's honesty made her admire her a little.

"Who knows?" Janice said. She looked at Celeste's beautiful and delicate face and thought, "Noone will know what happens until the very last minute."
Seeing Janice looked like she was declaring a fight, Celeste frowned slightly and said, "MissSimpson, you're not planning on giving up, are you?"
Janice nodded and said, "Yes, I don't intend to give up."
"Are you not afraid that I'll tell Gary about this?" Celeste asked.
"If you're a tattletale, Gary probably wouldn't like you for too long." Janice smiled and continued,"Even if you told him, Gary may not necessarily admit it, would he?"
Celeste froze and pondered for a moment. Then, she nodded and said, "You’re probably right. It'sjust that, Miss Simpson, I think that it's understandable for you to have feelings for him when youdon't know that we're dating. But I think it's unjustifiable for you to still declare your unwillingness togive up so bluntly, even now that you know."
"Are you trying to say I'm being immoral?" Janice retorted.
Celeste trembled and fell into deep thought. It seemed like Janice really didn't want to give up. "AmI wrong?"
"I have the right to pursue my love, don't I?" Janice said.
Celeste's face became cold instantly. She warned, "You do. Everyone has the right to pursue theirlove. Thank you for reminding me of that, Miss Simpson. I appreciate your honesty, and I won't stopyou from doing so. But let me remind you, nothing happened even after you pursued him for fouryears; nothing probably will even if you continue. Perhaps you and Gary may not even be able tocontinue to be friends if you continue."
"Then it's my fate." Janice said, "You don't have to remind me about that, Miss Celeste."
"It seems that your apology is just a mere formality," Celeste stood up as she spoke. Feeling thatthere was no need to speak with this woman any longer. Celeste thought she didn't need to bepolite to someone who declared a fight for her boyfriend's love.
"My apology was sincere, but it's also true that I couldn't let him go," Janice smiled. She leanedback against the couch and continued, "Miss Celeste, I'm sure you know a waterfront pavilion getsthe moonlight first. When Gary and I return to Boston, I'll be the closest one to him."
Celeste's heart tightened; she thought this woman could render her speechless effortlessly.
"Then I wish you all the best." Celeste left after she said so.
Janice followed her from behind. "Thank you for your blessing. Let's agree, the one that losesneeds to give their blessing to the winner. What do you say?"
"Miss Simpson, I'm not as unscrupulous as you," Celeste sneered coldly, "it's better to have a clearconscience on whatever we're doing."
"Naturally. But I don't think I'm guilty." Janice said as she followed Celeste up the stairs.
It was the first time Celeste had been so frustrated. How could someone be so cocky? No wondershe didn't like Janice much before.
Celeste originally thought she was petty, but now it seemed that Janice was definitely trouble.
There was indeed a reason for her sensitivity.
"Whatever, Miss Simpson," Celeste advised faintly.
When they reached the second floor, Janice looked at Celeste before going into her room. "Are youstaying with Gary now?"
Celeste stopped and looked back at her, "This is between him and me. I don't have an obligation toreport to you, do I, Miss Simpson?"
"Of course," Janice nodded and smiled. "Then it seems that you've really slept with Gary."
Celeste looked at Janice with a frown. She didn't have much anger but only calmness. "It's reallybetween him and me. There's no need for you to know."
After that, she headed upstairs.
Behind her, Janice continued, "Having sex too early with him will only make him forget about you bythe time he goes back to Boston. A woman who's easily obtained will not be cherished."
Celeste stopped in her tracks and smiled. She looked at Janice condescendingly and said, "MissSimpson, it's much easier not to be cherished when a woman would not leave a man alone."
Janice pursed her lips tightly, and her expression changed.
Celeste smiled and went upstairs.
Soon, she returned to her room. Celeste sent a message to Gary saying she had returned andreminded him to call her after his shower.
She went to take a shower. Thinking of what Janice said, she felt a little annoyed.
After she took a shower and changed, Gary was already knocking at her door.
