Chapter 1428

Startled, Celeste went to open the door and saw Gary carrying his luggage and backpack at herdoorstep.

She frowned slightly and asked, "What are you doing?"

"I've checked out from my room. I'm staying with you." Gary said matter-of-factly.

Celeste paused for a moment before letting let him in.

"What did Janice tell you?" Gary asked.

"She said she likes you," Celeste said as she closed the door. Then she saw him laughing.

"What kind of joke is that? Celeste, can you not be so petty? There's really nothing between Janiceand me." Gary said.

Celeste knew she really didn't know Gary as much as Janice did.

Even if what she said was true, he still wouldn't believe Janice liked him.

Then there was no need for her to court a rebuff, so she smiled and said, "Yeah, I'm just messingaround. I'm petty like that."

"Silly girl." Gary held her in his arms and took a deep breath of her scent before saying, "I only loveyou. Don't imagine things."

"Okay," There was one thing Celeste was clear about. Janice's wishful thinking was her own, andGary indeed had no feelings for her. He just thought it wasn't important.

The boundary was ambiguous was because of his lack of awareness.

And she really shouldn't jump before the boat sank.

"Why are you suddenly so obedient?" Surprised, Gary lowered his head to look at and asked,"What's the matter?"

Celeste was born to be a quiet girl; she wouldn't show her emotions easily.

In his embrace, she froze slightly, and Gary easily noticed the change in her mood.

"Nothing." Celeste looked up at him and said, "I just feel that sometimes I'm not mature enough."

"Are you talking about our breakup?" He asked with a smile.

Celeste nodded, "Yes, I am very petty. I just want to say I'll do my best from now on. We can do this,Gary."

"And?" Gary raised his eyebrows.

Celeste looked at Gary seriously, into the deepest part of his soul, and said, "The highest realm anycouple could reach is to grow old together hand in hand. Forever loyal to each other."

"Do you want us to be like that too?" Gary asked.

Celeste asked, "Don't you?"

"Then, you want us to be like that too, don't you?" He still didn't answer her question but laughedand teased her. Of course, he wanted nothing more than that.novelbin

Celeste pouted and looked at him, saying, "Of course I want to. I just said it; this is the highestrealm in life. To be with you forever and always. But I can't do it myself. We need to both make aneffort."

"I've always been working very hard," he said in a low, hoarse voice.

Celeste burst into laughter, "Alright, I'll believe you for now."

The following days went smoothly. They had a good time in Edinburgh.

Janice didn't bother them either. Five days later, Ava was almost done with her work, so she wasready to return to Oxford with them.

Before leaving, she told Celeste, and so Gary and Celeste treat her to a meal.

It was then that he admitted to being Celeste's boyfriend for the first time, and Ava wasn't surprisedeither as she knew it all along.

Ava gave her blessings to them. She even told Celeste to cherish her relationship and be careful ofJanice.

When she bid Ava farewell, she kept thinking about her words.

"Be careful of Janice."

Sure enough, that night, Janice looked for them in the lobby and said with a smile, "I'm planning togo back to London tomorrow. Do you guys want to tag along?"

Celeste didn't say anything.

Gary asked Janice, "Aren't you having a good time with Flynt? Why would you leave all of asudden?"

"Has she been out with Flynt all this time?" Celeste asked, a little surprised.

"Yeah. She had been going out with Flynt these past five days," he said, "Otherwise, how are weable to enjoy such peace? If she was alone, she would have annoyed us long ago."

"You know me well," Janice said with a smile.

Saying something like that in front of her, Celeste knew Janice was trying to tell her Gary belongedto her.

"He does seem to know you very well," Celeste said with a slight smile, then looked at Gary. But herstare gave him an inexplicable feeling.

"Why should I know her well?" Gary immediately distanced himself and put his arm around Celeste's shoulder. He said to Janice, "Be careful on your way back. Bye."

After that, he intended to go upstairs with Celeste.

"Let's have dinner together," Janice said.

Celeste smiled and said, "No thanks, we've eaten."

Janice was a little surprised, "This early?"

"Yes," Celeste nodded. "Miss Simpson, I suggest you order room service instead of eating outalone. It would be unsafe."

"Thank you for your concern, Miss Celeste," Janice said.

"Then take care of yourself. Be safe," Celeste said.

"Oh, I hope I'm not that unlucky." Janice still had a smile on her face, "I don't think I'm thatunfortunate."

"Let's hope so," Celeste said, "But if you still face any trouble, Gary, you should let Uncle Loganhandle it. I've informed him in advance, just in case." "Since you're so worried, why don't I go backwith you two? When are you guys leaving?" Janice asked.

Celeste smiled, looking at her as if she saw through her little tricks, and said, "You should ask him. Ihave no objection. If Gary's willing to give you a ride, I'll be fine with it too."

Gary frowned slightly, "Leave with us? Don't you think you had enough of being the third wheel?"

Janice smiled awkwardly, but she wasn't angry, "I'm just kidding, seeing you two worried about me."

Gary said, "You know what, you should just go back to London and pack up to leave for Boston."

"No way, I want to stay for a few days more," Janice said, "I've come this far; I want to enjoy a fewdays more here. I would probably even join you two."

"It's alright, Miss Simpson," Celeste said, "The butler will accompany you. Gary and I don't staythere so we won't be able to keep you company. I apologize for that, but the butler will definitelytake good care of you."

"That's right," Gary nodded.

He glanced at the two of them, feeling that there was a tension between them.

It seemed that the two of them had been acting very strangely since they last spoke. The situationwas hard to grasp.

He had never seen Celeste this serious before.

Gary didn't say anything much. He turned around and left with Celeste.

Behind them, Janice said, "Are you guys really not taking me back to London? How many moredays are you two still staying?"

Gary turned his head and looked at her sharply, "Just get over with it."

Seeing he looked at Janice, Celeste turned to look at her too. She happened to be looking at themwith a smile.

Celeste waited for a moment and scrunched her nose slightly; only then did she remembersomething. She pinched Gary's chest lightly.

Her playful action successfully made him draw a breath and put his focus back onto her.

He lowered his eyes and looked at Celeste. In his eyes, her action was absolutely allusive.

Behind them, Janice asked, "Do you guys want to have supper together?"

Sadly, no one paid any attention to her.

Gary looked at Celeste with a firm gaze; his attention was now fully on her. There was no way hehad heard what Janice said.

For the past week, all he could do was hug her. Being young blood, how could he bear not doinganything more?

Yet, at this time, Celeste pinched him, then immediately looked at him with a smile, not sayinganything.

Gary lowered his face and whispered in her ear, "Can we now?"

Celeste's heart trembled; she looked at him with a red face and a smile but still didn't say anything.

Her smile could easily turn a man on, and Gary was instantly tempted.

With a slight force, he hugged Celeste and quickly went upstairs, no longer paying attention toJanice.

Janice stood rooted to the ground dazedly as she watched them leave.

After entering their room, Gary pressed Celeste against the door and said softly, "Tell me, did youpinch me on purpose just now?"

Celeste's mood brightened, seeing that he understood her intention. Looking at him, she wrappedher arms around his neck, stood on her tiptoes, and kissed him. She said, "Yeah, I did it onpurpose."

Gary smiled gently, "So you're saying, we can do it now, can we?"
