Chapter 1404

Celeste did not know what she was feeling, and Gary's arrogance also made her a little annoyed. However, due to her uncomfortable physical condition, she did not try to struggle or reject him.

Gary carried her into the bathroom and placed her on top of the toilet bowl carefully. He said, "Waita minute, I'll bring you something."

Celeste pursed her lips without saying a word.

She watched as Gary walked out quickly. When he returned, he was holding something in his hand.

Celeste was startled to see that he was holding a sanitary pad in his hand.

He was thoughtful enough to remember this.

"Thank you," Celeste thanked him.novelbin

"You're welcome," Gary looked down at her, a hint of pain flashing through his eyes.

Since when did they become so distant from each other?

She held the sanitary pad in her hand and waited for him to leave the bathroom so that she coulduse the toilet in peace. However, Gary did not move, and continued to stand right in front of her.

Celeste was forced to lift her head and look at him. The moment their eyes met, both of them felt awave of emotions fluttering in their hearts.

Celeste pursed her lips. She wanted to say something, but in the end, she swallowed her words andremained silent.

Gary's gaze was fixed on her eyes. He noticed that her lips were parted slightly, but she did not saya word.

All the regret and pain he felt in his heart flashed quickly and disappeared at the speed of light.

Finally, he turned around and walked out of the bathroom.

Celeste was staring at his back as he left. The muscles on his broad and smooth back were solid, and they flexed with tension.

Gary looked just like the country's top model.

Celeste made sure that the door was closed before she lowered her gaze and proceeded to use thetoilet. Fortunately, her bleeding had stopped.

She took a closer look and let out a sigh of relief.

She finished using the toilet. Before she could stand up, the door burst open.

Celeste's heart dropped immediately and she looked up subconsciously, only to meet Gary's deepand mesmerizing eyes. Those eyes were focused on her as she sat on the toilet bowl, and theywere filled with desire and lust for her.

"Get out of here!" She shouted at him, feeling ashamed and angry.

Gary continued to stare at her intensely, his gaze growing deeper and deeper. On the surface, hefelt like a calm sea. However, Celeste could detect the rough waves surging from within him, threatening to crash onto the rocks and swallow one alive. It was as though the calm before thestorm.

Celeste's face turned red, and feelings of embarrassment started to appear on her pretty face.

"I regret it," Gary said out of nowhere.

Celeste was startled. She tugged on her clothes tightly with a little bit more force.

Meanwhile, Gary was still staring at Celeste. He did not intend to come in and just continued tostand at the door. His tall physique and solid muscles were radiating a frightening but stunning aura.

After saying this sentence, he fell silent for about a minute.

Celeste's heart was in a mess, and her heartbeat was beating irregularly.

She probably knew what he wanted to say.

"I don't want things to end between us," Gary admitted sincerely.

Celeste looked at him subconsciously, and saw that Gary was swallowing thickly. He looked at herwith a complicated expression, and there seemed to be a very deep passion in his eyes.

He did not avoid her gaze and continued to say, "Even by looking at you like this, I can't controlmyself."

Gary pointed down at himself, and Celeste followed his hand as she looked over.

She widened her eyes and allowed her reddening face to be seen by him as she did not avoid hisgaze.

Even though Gary was like this, his facial expression still looked calm. No matter how muchemotion was churning in his pitch-black eyes, he tried to suppress them.

He pursed his thin lips, and his eyelashes drooped slightly. It made him look extremely defeated anddevastated.

Looking at him made Celeste's heart tighten, and she felt a little down too.

Gary probably spoke and treated her politely because he knew that he had hurt her.

He felt guilty.

No matter what feelings he had for her, it only seemed like he was being possessive with her.

She did not answer him.

"Can we start over?" Gary asked once again.

"What about Janice?" Celeste suddenly raised her voice slightly. Maybe deep down, his relationshipwith Janice was really bothering her.

"What does this have to do with her?" Gary frowned in confusion.

Celeste laughed at herself sarcastically, "You really do care about her."

"Since when?" Gary rebutted immediately.

Celeste's facial expression was still calm. She looked at Gary with disbelief and bitternessspreading in her gaze, "You really care about her, even though you do not notice it. Maybe thereisn't anything going on between the two of you right now, but you can't deny that she's special toyou."

Gary lowered his gaze, the emotions in his eyes becoming frighteningly piercing and cold, "Sinceyou are asking me about this, how did you feel when you were spending time with Flynt? Can I alsosay that he is someone special to you?"

After hearing his rebuttal, Celeste heaved a sigh in her heart again. He was still behaving like this, trying to attack her to cover up his wrongdoings and guilt.

No matter what, she knew that Janice was a special someone to Gary.

She could feel it from his attitude.

She knew Gary's personality well. He always spoke harshly, but he would usually ignore girls mostof the time. Previously in school, he acted as though girls were transparent, and he did not evengive them a glance at all.

He was not only familiar with Janice, but he was also concerned about her.

The way they got along with each other seemed more like a couple, and it made Celeste feel likeshe was the stranger in this relationship.

Other than sleeping together, what else had they done together?

Video calling each other for four years?

Those were just brief conversations without any meaning. Every single time, it would start and endwith lovey-dovey and flirtatious phrases.

Their conversations always revolved around flirting.

However, could a relationship last until the end by purely relying on attraction and affection?

Life was heavy and burdensome, so could it really bear the weight of future temptations?

She paused for a moment. Many thoughts filled her head, and she burst into laughter out of burninganger, "Yes, Flynt is really important to me. I like Flynt in the same way you like Janice. Whateverfeelings you have for Janice, I probably have towards Flynt."

Gary's eyes turned colder when he heard her words.

"I really don't like it when you care about Janice so much. I came to Edinburgh from Oxford becauseI wanted peace of mind. However, you brought Janice along to look for me. You knew that I didn't

like her, but you still cornered me like this. What do you mean when you say that you want to startall over again?" Celeste's tone was calm, and she said every single word with full determination.

"I don't like Janice."

"Then I probably don't like Flynt either," Celeste commented.

Gary's eyes became more and more gloomy as he asked, "Celeste, when did you become sounreasonable?"

Celeste's heart ached as if it was being stabbed by a knife.

Unreasonable?

She smirked, "That's right. I'm being unreasonable.

If that's the case, why do you want to start over with me again? Gary, you were so determined whenyou wanted to go to the United States in the past. Where did that determination go? If things areover, let it be over. Let's stop pestering each other. At the very least, I will still respect you."

Gary's pupils constricted so intensely that they twitched a few times.

He suddenly stormed towards her.

Celeste quickly pulled up her clothes and tried to escape.

However, Gary managed to reach out and grabbed Celeste's slender wrist.

"What are you doing? Do you still want to do it roughly?" Celeste looked up and met his eyesstubbornly. There was no trace of fear, only resistance as she questioned, "Do you still want me tobleed and get hurt?"

Gary's gaze sank as he looked at her as she resisted his touch. There was a mocking smileplastered on her face too, and he found it particularly piercing to the eye.

He tightened his grip on Celeste and said through gritted teeth, "I'm telling you, I didn't bring Janicehere. She came here by herself."

Celeste frowned.

"I f*cking ran into her here, that's all," He added. Celeste did not speak. Her chest felt heavy andstuffy, and she was in a state of panic.

The more exasperated he was, the more she could see how much Janice meant to him. She took adeep breath and pretended to be composed, "What a coincidence. You guys always meet eachother by accident. You took the initiative to go to London to save her, didn't you?"

"Are you still going to hold on to that?" Gary was mad.

"I'm not holding on to that," Celeste shook her head, "You are the one who is clinging onto me now.Regardless of whether Janice is between us or not, it won't be suitable for the two of us to datebased on our current situation."

"What did you say?" Gary suppressed his emotions. He did not get angry as he was still holding itin, "Do you really want to end this?"

"Yes."

Gary's eyes were clouded with a hint of fury, but he still bent down to pick her up and carried heroutside.

He placed her on the bed.

Then, Celeste tried to stand up.

Gary said in a deep voice, "Alright, if you really think that there's something going on between meand Janice, I'll pursue her, and turn your words into reality."

Celeste was stunned. She then let out a bitter laugh.

"Whatever you say, Gary."

Gary was even angrier when he saw that she had no intention of asking him to stay. He saidsarcastically, "Don't rush. When you are fully recovered, I'll do it for sure."

Celeste felt as though a stone was weighing on her heart. However, it was as cold as ice.
