Chapter 986

Chapter 986

The other party was willing to go through with it.

“If you do this, you will be committing a crime!” Lillian said.

“It’ll just be an accidental bump. At most, I will be charged with assaulting someone. Don’t worry. Mytwo subordinates are mentally prepared,” Ysabel said indifferently.

The indifferent look in Ysabel’s eyes seemed to suggest that she didn’t care about the life of the unbornchild, even though the unborn child was related to her by blood.

Ysabel sat on the couch and continued to sip coffee as if she was waiting for a good show.

Lillian wanted to rush out of the private room, but one man had already grabbed her while the otherman swung his fist toward her abdomen.

“No!” she shouted madly, trying to protect her belly. Seeing the fist approaching, there was only despairin her eyes.

“Will I just lose my child this way? After several dangerous and threatening miscarriages, the child isstill alive. Will I lose my child now? No, I can’t let that happen! This is my child with Callum,” Lillianthought.

Without knowing where the strength came from, Lillian suddenly moved and bent halfway. The otherhand that was not stopped suddenly grabbed the fist that attacked her. Then, she opened her mouthdirectly and bit his hand hard without thinking about it.

At that moment, she had only one thing in mind, and that was to save the child.

After that, she got slapped hard across the face.

However, Lillian still didn’t let go. Even though she knew that it was useless to do so and could onlymake her suffer more, she did it anyway. “I might not be able to save myself, but I still need to dowhatever it takes to protect my child. That’s a mother’s instinct!” she thought.

Slapping sounds kept ringing in the private room. Just when Lillian felt her cheeks were completelynumb with pain, someone suddenly tried to open the door to the private room from the outside.

However, the door was locked from the inside, so the people outside couldn’t open it.

“Who is it? Who is at the door?” Lillian wondered.

Just as Lillian was guessing, the door was suddenly kicked open from outside. A tall figure appeared inLillian’s eyes.

It was Callum.

After seeing the scene in front of him, Callum was furious. The men were holding onto Lillian’s thinfigure. She was biting into one of the men’s hands, and her

hands were already suppressed. Her cheeks were red and swollen with messy hair. She looked like anutter mess.

“If I hadn’t arrived, what would have happened to her?” Callum thought.

Callum rushed forward, kicked the two men away, and picked up Lillian. His eyes were full of anger, looking at his mother. “I have told you not to interfere in my affairs with her. I will remember whathappened today!”

“You… Is that how you talk to your mother? This woman is just trying to use the child to take advantageof the White family. I don’t want you to have an illegitimate child! She and the child will damage thereputation of the White family and you,” Ysabel said unhappily.

Callum sneered, “Who would dare to call my child a rascal? I want to see how this child will damagethe reputation of the White family and mine after birth!”

After saying that, Callum hurried out of the private room with Lillian in his arms. Ysabel was so angrythat she smashed the coffee cup on the ground.

She thought, “Does Callum still care about Lillian so much? Based on his tone, he sounded like hewanted her to give birth to the child! He even spoke in such a tone as if he was the one going to givebirth to the child. Could it be… Is he really going to marry Lillian? No! I’ll never let such a woman marryinto the White family. My daughter-in-law should be a socialite instead of an ordinary person. If this kindof woman really marries into the White family, I’ll be embarrassed… People in my social circle willmake fun of me!”

Ysabel’s eyes flashed as if she had made a certain decision.

Meanwhile, Callum took Lillian to the car and ordered the driver to go to the hospital.

“What the hell did they do to you? Are you in pain?” Callum asked hurriedly, only to find that Lillian waslooking at him, dumbfounded.

“What are you looking at?” he asked.

“Y-You came to save me… You knew your mother wanted to see me… Did you rush here because youwere afraid that your mother would do something bad to me?” she stammered because her cheekswere so red and swollen that she would feel a sting when talking.

Callum frowned, watching her speaking in such a difficult and painful way. He said, “All right. Stoptalking. Just stay quiet!”

He felt guilty and uncomfortable.

She guessed right. He did know that his mother was looking for her, so he rushed over in a hurry, but itwas unexpected that she would appear in front of him in such a horrendous state.

When he saw her like that, at that moment, he only felt his heart was about to explode, and he felt coldin an instant.

Back then, even when she hurt him so badly, he still couldn’t bear to lay a finger on her.

She was the treasure he took good care of. Yet, he had to see others treating her like a piece ofgarbage.

Most importantly, it was his mother who was harming Lillian.

At that moment, in addition to anger, Callum was also filled with guilt and indescribable emotions.

Lillian obediently shut up and said nothing more.

“He came. He came to save me! Nothing can make me happier. Our child is safe. Besides, he stillcares about me. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have rushed here to help me,” she thought.

When they arrived at the hospital, the doctor checked Lillian’s condition. The baby was all right, andshe suffered some minor injuries. In addition to her slapped cheeks, the corners of her mouth were alsocracked, and some blood oozed out. Other than that, she was all right.

Lillian had been the hospital’s frequent visitor since she was pregnant. At that moment, after knowingthat her child was safe and sound, she breathed a long sigh of relief and didn’t care about her injury atall.

On the contrary, Callum was more nervous than Lillian. He asked the doctor how long would theinjuries take to heal and also asked about some details of subsequent treatment in detail.

When they left the hospital, Callum said, “I’ll take you back to your inn right now!”

“No!” Lillian hurriedly said. If she were to go back to the inn, her parents would

see her injuries. Not wanting her parents to worry, she continued, “Just drive me to a hotel. I’ll book aroom myself.”
