Chapter 987

Chapter 987

He glanced at her and saw her thoughts were written all over her face. Callum pursed his thin lips anddrove Lillian to the manor of the White family. Lillian was obviously stunned, with a look of hesitationand worry on her face.

“Don’t worry. My mother doesn’t live here, and she rarely comes here,” Callum said. “Besides, I told hernot to mess with you today. At least for now, she won’t.”

“At present?” Lillian bit her lips and wondered if his mother would still trouble her in the future.

She didn’t care about it, but she was afraid that the baby in her stomach would be hurt.

“As long as you don’t have an abortion, the baby in your stomach will be born safely!” Callum said.

Lillian was stunned and looked at him with some expectation. “Are you willing to accept this child? Then you…”

“This child is my child. I will definitely accept them, but that doesn’t mean I will accept you.” His wordswere akin to a basin of cold water splashing onto her.

However, Lillian also said to herself in her mind that there was still time before January.

Additionally, Callum was treating her better than when she first arrived in Jacaster. Therefore, shebelieved she still had a spot in his heart and didn’t want to give up.

Lillian followed Callum out of the car and entered the latter’s residence.

The housekeepers in the manor were calm when they saw Lillian’s red and swollen face. They didn’teven have any other expression on their faces, let alone secretly glancing at her. It was as if their

employer had just brought back an ordinary guest.

That made Lillian feel at ease. Consequently, she thought the housekeepers in the White residencewere indeed well-trained.

“Arrange a guest room for Ms. Quinn,” Callum told the butler, Dave.

“Understood,” Dave answered.

“Excuse me, can you arrange one for me that’s closer to Callum’s bedroom?” Lillian quickly added acondition. After meeting Callum’s eyes, she smiled embarrassedly. “Your house is quite big, and it’s myfirst time here. I’m afraid of getting lost. It’ll be more convenient for me to meet you if I needsomething.” Callum pursed his thin lips and stared at Lillian.

At that moment, Lillian felt that her swollen cheeks were getting hotter.

After a while, Callum finally closed his eyes and said to Dave, “Just do as she

asked.”

“Understood,” Dave replied. Then, he thought, “Even though Ms. Quinn seems disheveled at thismoment, she probably means a lot to Mr. White.”

Just as Dave was about to leave, Lillian spoke to Callum. “Callum, can your driver help me get mypillow in my inn? It’s meant for pregnant women, and without that pillow, I feel uncomfortable whilesleeping.”

Dave almost slipped and fell.

“Pregnant woman’s pillow?” Dave thought. “Is she pregnant? Who’s the father? Is it… Mr. White?”

Thinking of that, Dave’s body trembled again, and he thought it would be another explosive news atJacaster.

After that, Lillian called her parents. Of course, she didn’t tell them about her being beaten. She onlysaid that she would stay overnight at Callum’s place in separate rooms. Then, she asked her parents toremember to hand the pregnant woman’s pillow to someone asking for it later.

No matter what questions Stephen and Abigail asked, they couldn’t figure out why their daughter wassuddenly staying at Callum’s place. However, since she didn’t sound like she was in distress, it shouldbe a good thing.

When Callum’s men came to pick up the pillow, Abigail asked them to bring some pastries made byherself to her daughter.

Callum looked at the pillow brought back by his subordinates and found that it was not only a pillow. Inaddition to a regular pillow, there were a bunch of other pillows covering her side and back.

It could be said she was trapped in the pillows if she used it.novelbin

“Are you going to sleep with such a pillow?” Callum asked.

“Yeah. The further the pregnancy progresses, the more uncomfortable it will be for me to sleep flat onmy back. It’s much easier to lie on my side. This kind of pillow is very soft. Sleeping with this pillow isas soft as sleeping with you,” said Lillian.

Callum’s ears reddened slightly as he thought, “Was she always this flirty? Why does it seem like she’simplying she sleeps with me every day?”

“By the way, do you want this snack? In the past, when you visited me, you loved the snacks made bymy mother!” As Lillian spoke, she took out a soft snack from the lunchbox.

Looking at the snacks in her hand, Callum recalled scenes from when he spent time at her place.

For him, the White family was always cold and full of trifles. Even when everyone seemed to be gettingalong, they were actually scheming against each other.

However, in the Quinn residence, he could easily integrate into the family without

guessing anything.

Perhaps her personality was the way it was because she was raised in the Quinn family.

Callum involuntarily took the snack from Lillian, put it in his mouth, and bit it. It was soft with a trace ofsweetness but not too greasy. It was still as delicious as he recalled.

“How is it? My mother’s baking is the same as before.” Lillian smiled. Her cheeks were red andswollen, and the corners of her mouth were a bit bruised. As such, she couldn’t really eat the snack atthat moment, but he could.

Callum didn’t answer, but he finished eating the dessert in his hand and said to Lillian, “Remember toapply the ointment.”

“I have to do it with a mirror, though. It’s too troublesome. Why don’t you help me?” She shamelesslyhanded the ointment prepared by the hospital to him. Callum glared at Lillian, but that didn’t affect her.She continued to raise the ointment in her hand.

Finally, Callum only took the ointment and gently spread it on her red and swollen cheek.

“It hurts! It hurts!” Lillian immediately grimaced and howled.

Thus, he couldn’t help but gently apply the ointment.

Even Callum didn’t understand himself. He planned to ignore her and did not want to put all his feelingson her anymore. Yet, once he spent time with her, it seemed that he would always be the one whosurrendered.

That was the case even though he should be the stronger one, while she should be the weak one.
