Chapter 1048

Chapter 1048

Alas, she forgot that the person in front of her was drunk. Her words had simply provoked him.

Tears streamed down her cheeks. Amelia choked. “Warren, don’t force me to hate you again.”

However, everything was in vain!

Amelia rinsed her body with warm water desperately in the bathroom of the hotel.

She didn’t expect such a thing to happen when she was kind enough to send him to the hotel.

She desperately wanted to separate herself from this man. However, they had…novelbin

He kept saying in her ear how much he loved her, but he was forcing her against her wishes.

Amelia emerged from the bathroom after an uncertain amount of time, her gaze complicated as shelooked at Warren, who was asleep on the bed.

There was a mix of resentment and something else in her eyes.

Afterward, she hastily dressed and left without a word.

It was a nightmare, and she hoped that things would return to normal once she woke up.

When Amelia returned home, Matilda and Aiden were still asleep. She breathed a sigh of relief andchanged into fresh clothing, disposing of the ones she had worn last night in a large trash bag.

She didn’t want to be reminded of her own helplessness.

Just like in the past, whatever he gave her, whether good or bad, she had to accept it withoutresistance. He was so domineering that he wouldn’t allow her any defiance or struggle.

The next day, Matilda noticed her wearing a high-necked sweater and asked, “Why are you suddenlywearing a high-necked sweater?”

“It’s getting a little cold, so I decided to bring out my high-necked clothes,” Amelia replied, trying toavoid Matilda seeing the marks on her neck. She didn’t want her to know what had happened.

Throughout the morning, Amelia couldn’t shake the feeling of restlessness. Scenes from last nightreplayed her mind.

His kisses, his touches, and his drunken ramblings.

He said, “Amelia, I love you.”

“Amelia, do you know how much I miss you? I miss you so much that it’s suffocating… I wish timecould turn back, back to the way it was.”

“Amelia, please love me…”

“My liver is in your body. In fact, I can give you my heart if you wish. You’re my beloved…”

These words were repeated in Amelia’s ear.

“Stop thinking about it! Forget it!” she told herself.

Just then, the car from last night pulled up in front of her store once again. Amelia’s body tensed as shewatched the man get out of the car.

He walked toward her, clad in the suit he wore yesterday.

Her whole body tensed, and her hands unconsciously gripped her dress tightly.

Warren looked at Amelia with guilt and remorse on his face, but he might do the same thing again if hewas given another chance.

Perhaps his subconsciousness did what he always wanted to do when he was drunk.

When he woke up this morning, she had already left the hotel. Even though he was drunk last night, some vague memories lingered in his mind, and the disarray on the bed told him that something hadhappened that night.

“Amelia,” Warren began, “about last night…”

Amelia abruptly stood up and reprimanded, “Nothing happened last night. You were drunk, and I justtook you to your hotel room.”

“Nothing happened?” Warren frowned, his gaze fixed on her. “Do you really think that I don’t rememberanything just because I was drunk?

Last night, we…

“Stop it!” she interrupted forcefully, staring at the man in front of her. “Nothing happened last night!”

Warren pursed his lips tightly, and their eyes locked in mid-air.

Just then, Matilda came out from the back room and was taken aback when she saw Warren. Shenervously asked her daughter, “Why is he here again? Did he do anything to you?”

“Mom, it’s nothing,” Amelia reassured her.

Warren scowled and said, “Does last night mean nothing to you? Don’t tell me…”

“Mom, there are some things I need to discuss with him. Please keep an eye on the store,” Ameliaquickly told Matilda. She was afraid that if Warren kept talking, her mother would figure out what hadhappened last night.

Hearing this, Matilda nodded.

Amelia approached Warren and said, “Let’s find a place to talk. First, move your car away from here. Idon’t want to be the subject of gossip among the neighbors.”

“Okay,” he responded.

They got into the car, and Warren started the engine. To Amelia’s surprise, he drove back to the samehotel where he had stayed the previous night.

She was stiff all over as she cast a complicated gaze toward the hotel’s entrance.

“Aren’t we going in? You said you wanted to talk,” Warren said and got out of the car.

Amelia bit her lips slightly and finally walked in.

The room was still the same as last night, indicating that Warren hadn’t let anyone clean it.

The disheveled bed and the lingering scent in the air suggested the events of the previous night.

“What happened last night is clear to both of us, isn’t it?” Warren turned to face Amelia. “Last night, Ipassed out, and you could have just ignored me. But you brought me here. Amelia, you don’t hate meas much as you pretend, do you?”

He approached her step by step.

She stepped back until her back met the wall. “Warren, I deeply regret bringing you here. There’snothing between us.”
