Chapter 1047

Warren left hastily.

Lucas wore an apologetic expression and said, “I’m sorry for involving you with Mr. York…”

“It should be me apologizing,” Amelia responded with a bitter smile. “I dragged you into our issues.”

Although Lucas said nothing, Amelia insisted on apologizing.

In the evening, Aiden and Matilda were already asleep. Amelia was about to close the concessionstand when a car pulled up in front of the store. A figure stumbled out of the car before she could react.

Before Amelia could react, the figure had already hugged her and buried his face in her neck with hishead down.

“Amelia…” Hearing the hoarse voice and detecting the alcohol stench, she immediately knew who itwas.

It was Warren. She wondered, “Is he drunk?”

Amelia tried to push Warren away, but the more she pushed, the tighter he held her. Their bodiespressed closely together, and his breath enveloped her.

“Warren, are you out of your mind?” Amelia whispered, trying not to wake her mother and Aiden.

“Out of my mind?” Warren suddenly chuckled, his laughter hoarse and low. He burped and continued,“Yes, I’m crazy. I only dared to come over after drinking a lot of alcohol.

He was afraid that if he was sober, he would see her eyes filled with hatred again.

He wondered if he wouldn’t feel the hatred in her gaze if he was drunk.

“Amelia, do you know how much I miss you? Every time I saw you, I would use so much restraint to trymy best to restrain myself…” he murmured, his face buried deep in her shoulders and lips, kissing herneck with great desire.

Amelia’s body suddenly trembled. “Let me go…

“How can I let you go? How is that possible?” His kiss became more eager, “Amelia, I love you. I can’tlet you go…

“But Warren, I don’t love you…” Amelia said, struggling and feeling that she was about to besuffocated. His arms were like steel bars, making her unable to move at all.

His body stiffened, and then he kissed her more violently!

“Warren, please… if you don’t stop, I’ll… Before Amelia could finish her sentence, he collapsed ontoher shoulder, and the force that was restraining her disappeared.

Amelia pushed Warren hard, and then he fell to the ground.

She was still catching her breath, her cheeks and neck flushed.

He fell to the ground and remained motionless.

He lay on the ground, unmoving. She looked at him, puzzled. After a moment, she knelt down to checkon him and realized that he was asleep due to being too drunk.

Amelia found herself in a dilemma.

Leaving him lying there didn’t seem right, but bringing him into her house was also problematic.

She hesitated for a moment, then managed to lift him and placed him in the car he had arrived in. Sheasked, “Where do you live?”

His eyes were shut as he was thoroughly inebriated.

Sighing, Amelia got into the driver’s seat and drove to a nearby hotel.

It seemed like the only option for the night.

She parked the car in front of a modest, city-center hotel. It was not as luxurious as the ones Warrenusually frequented, but it would do.

After parking the car, Amelia felt Warren’s pockets for his wallet. She found it and, as expected, his IDwas inside.

Amelia struggled to get Warren into the hotel. She completed the check-in process at the front deskand then assisted him to the room.

The room was small, with just one bed and a bathroom.

Amelia placed Warren on the bed and took a deep breath, wiping the sweat from her forehead.

After a moment of contemplation, Amelia bent down and removed Warren’s shoes, then helped him outof his suit jacket. She covered him with the hotel’s blanket.

“Amelia… Amelia…” he murmured, intermittently calling her name, and his forehead started to sweatprofusely. His eyebrows furrowed deeply, as though he was having a nightmare.

Amelia pursed her lips and stood up to leave.

Just then, his hand emerged from under the blanket, grabbing her wrist.

Amelia was startled. She realized that Warren’s eyes were open, and he was staring at her intently.

“Let go, I need to go back,” Amelia said, trying to pull her hand free.

In the next moment, the world seemed to spin, and Amelia found herself lying on the bed, withWarren’s body on top of hers.

“Warren, what are you doing?” She felt a rush of panic. The situation was making her increasinglyuncomfortable.

“I… what am I doing?” he mumbled, drawing his face closer to hers as though taking in her scent.

Her scent made his initially anxious heart calm down.

“Amelia, don’t leave me. Don’t go anywhere, okay?” he pleaded, brushing his nose against her cheek.

His actions were intimate, reminiscent of their time together when they were in love.novelbin

Amelia got goosebumps. “Warren, whether you’re drunk or not, you need to release me first. Whateveris going on, we can talk about it tomorrow when you’re sober,” she said.

Right now, her instinct was telling her that if she stayed here any longer, something she might regretwould happen.

Suddenly, he laughed but there was a tinge of sadness in his smile. “Let go of you? You’re going to findthat Lucas guy, aren’t you? I won’t let you go to him. What does he have that’s worth you looking at mewith such hatred? Why are you so determined to protect him?”
