Chapter 1049

Chapter 1049

If she hadn’t interfered, the incident last night wouldn’t have happened.

“But I’m glad you brought me here,” Warren said softly, lowering his head, his face enlarged in front ofAmelia’s eyes. “If you hadn’t brought me here, we wouldn’t have been so intimate last night… asintimate as we used to be.”

Smack!

She suddenly raised her hand and slapped him hard.

Warren’s cheek turned slightly to one side, bearing a red mark.

He seemed unfazed by the pain and continued, “If you think one slap isn’t enough, you can keep going. But, Amelia, no matter what, you can’t deny that last night, you had feelings for me. In the end, youwere desiring me. When I was drunk, I still remember the things you said… you said you wanted me,you said…”

“Stop! Stop!” Amelia covered her ears abruptly, not wanting to hear more. His words only dragged herback to that time, making her feel even more miserable.

She didn’t want it, but her body refused to listen to her brain. Even after years later, he was still familiarwith her body. It was ridiculous but sad.

He pulled down her hands and continued to whisper the same thing he said yesterday, showing hisaffection.

“Amelia, since you have feelings for me, don’t resist me, okay? I’ll be nice to you. I promise won’t hurtyou again this time!”

Amelia laughed suddenly, tears welling up in her dark eyes. “You think I wanted what happened lastnight? It was nothing but forceful…”novelbin

“Warren, have you ever experienced being overpowered by someone else’s strength, unable to resist,no matter how hard you struggled?” she accused, her voice rising. “That sense of humiliation, have youfelt it?”

Warren stared at her in a daze, frozen in place.

“You think everything that happened last night was because I had feelings for you? But for me, it wasjust humiliation because I couldn’t resist. Even if it wasn’t you, if it were any other man, I would havereacted the same way!”

Her accusations and tears were like the sharpest sword, piercing his heart.

“Humiliation… Everything from last night, was it really just humiliation for you?” he asked in a whisper.

“Isn’t it? Do you think I willingly went through all that with you?” she retorted sarcastically. “Warren, you’ve hurt me over and over. How many times do you think you need to hurt me before it’s enough?”

His face turned pale, and even the color on his lips seemed to fade away.

He trembled slightly and gazed at her with a determined look. “Tell me, didn’t you feel… a little pleasurelast night?”

“No,” she replied without hesitation. “Everything from last night was just a nightmare for me.”

“A nightmare?” He chuckled bitterly. It was a beautiful dream for him, but a nightmare for her.

His fingers slowly reached for her face, mere inches away from touching her cheek.

Alas, she turned her face away, clearly resisting.

His hand seemed to freeze in mid-air, unable to move forward.

Despite their physical closeness, he felt like there was an insurmountable distance that no amount ofeffort could bridge.

“What do I need to do for you to give me even a little affection? I… just want a little…” he pleaded.

“No matter what, it’s impossible,” she ruthlessly rejected. “Warren, I’ve said it before. It’s already overbetween us. Let’s treat what happened yesterday as if it never happened. Forget anything everhappened, and I will forget it completely.”

Pain filled his eyes as he knew he couldn’t forget it.

Warren suddenly seemed to lose all his strength, stumbling backward.

Amelia took a deep breath. “I hope you won’t come to the store anymore. If there’s anything related toAiden, you can contact me by phone. Let’s end it here.”

After saying this, Amelia turned and left, leaving Warren standing alone in the room. His mood wascompletely different now.

When the sound of the door closing echoed, Warren collapsed to the floor, his hands clenched tightlyinto fists, pounding the ground heavily.

“Ah… Ah… Ah!” He let out painful screams.

Amelia returned to the store. Seeing her, Matilda asked nervously, “So, why did he come to see you?”

“It’s nothing,” Amelia reassured her mother, “I just talked to him and told him not to come to the storeanymore. There’s no future between us.”

Matilda hesitated for a moment and said, “It had been years, but he is still unmarried, and there is noother woman. Maybe he really…”

“Mom!” Amelia interrupted, understanding what her mother was trying to say. “If I were really with him, every time I saw him, I would be reminded of the past. That way, I can never escape from it.”

Hearing this, Matilda said nothing more.

In the following days, everything was calm. Warren didn’t come to her place again, and Lucas’ ex-wifedidn’t come to harass her either. According to Lucas, his ex-wife had initially been determined to takeover his stall, but suddenly changed her mind and stopped coming.

On the weekend, when the small store was relatively quiet, Rosalie hosted a meal, inviting Amelia andLillian for a get-together. It was a chance for the three women to catch up.

Lillian was eight months along, and she seemed blissful. Her face was noticeably rounder, a result ofthe care and feeding from Callum.

“Are you thirty-three weeks along?” Rosalie asked.

“Yeah, after the baby is born, I want both of you to be the godmothers!” Lillian said with a smile.

“Do you know if it’s a boy or a girl?” Rosalie inquired further.

Lillian shook her head. “Callum and I think it’s better to wait until the baby is born. Let’s keep it as asurprise.”

Amelia looked at Lillian’s pronounced baby bump and sighed, “Time flies. Before you know it, your childwill be born.”
