Chapter 331

“Bailey, what do we do?”

Bailey snapped out of her reverie when she heard her son's voice.

Stuffing the laptop into Zayron's arms, she turned and walked outside.

“I need to go to the seaside mansion and fetch Vicky. While I'm gone, make your own food, all right?”

Zayron went silent.

After Bailey left the kitchen, she headed straight to her room, changed into a set of casual sportswear, and secretly left the condominium.

The moment she left the house, Zayron sent a text message to his father.

Zayron: Bailey is on her way to rescue Vicky. I think when she gets to her, they'll leave Hallsbay. Youhave to keep a close eye on the sea, land, and air routes these few days. Don't let her slip away.

Meanwhile, at the Gezmond residence, Lionel was leaning against the couch in his study. As he readthe news headlines that had blown up all over the internet, his eyes narrowed, and his cold gaze wasas sharp as daggers.

He knew he was extremely careful every time he went to the mansion. Ordinary paparazzi couldn'thave possibly tailed him.

In other words, someone was targeting Victoria. These people had spread rumors about Victoria being

someone's mistress all over the internet. They even found out about the mansion beforehand and hidthere twenty-four hours in advance to get these photos.

Who was it? Who leaked this to the press and tried to destroy Victoria through public pressure?

Knock, knock, knock.

Someone knocked on the door to his study.

Immediately, he closed the laptop lid before he permitted that person to enter.

The door was pushed open, and Wendy walked in with a tray in her hand.

“Nell, I've prepared some soup for you. Have it while it's still hot.”

Lionel didn't say anything and narrowed his eyes at her.

Could it be her? It shouldn't be possible. The people who attended to her were all my men. If she didanything, I would be the first to know. But there wasn't anything unusual from my men's report.

“Have you seen the news?” Lionel asked in a roundabout way.

Stunned for a second, Wendy looked at him in confusion before saying, “What news? I haven't had thetime to watch the news since I was in the kitchen making soup. Did something happen?”

Lionel leaned back on the couch and folded his arms. Looking at her indifferently, he drawled, “It's

okay. You'll know sooner or later. The rumors are true. I'm indeed keeping a mistress, and she'sVictoria.”

Wendy trembled, her eyes flickered, and she had an awkward expression on her face.

She felt a sense of shame at his straightforwardness.

“Nell, I—”

Lionel waved at her dismissively and said, “You know, we are not even married and have not slepttogether either. You don't have to think of it as a betrayal. But if you feel wronged, you can look for oneyourself like I did. You—”

“Lionel,” Wendy called out to him in a high-pitched voice, with tears welling up in her eyes and awounded expression on her face. “After all these years, can't you feel my feelings for you? Youpromised to give Sebastian and me a complete family.”

Lionel laughed and shook his head at her. “That's not it, Wendy. The man you love is not me butSebastian's biological father.”

“No!” Wendy got agitated. “I don't love him! That irresponsible b*stard! I wish I could tear him intopieces if I ever see him! Why would I love him?”

“If you don't love him, why did you go against your parents for him? If you don't love him, why wouldyou give yourself to him and have Sebastian? Wends, calm down, and listen to your heart. Who do youreally love?” novelbin

Wendy burst into tears and shook her head continuously. “No, I don't love him! I never loved him. Thatspineless, irresponsible piece of shit! That man doesn't deserve my love! I'm used to living with youafter all these years. I want to stay with you in the future.”

Lionel sighed. He walked in front of her, held her in his embrace, and said, “See? You said so yourselfthat you're used to living with me. After all, I took you in and cared for you when you were at yourlowest. So, you may have mistaken your dependency on me for love. However, this is not love. Wends, when he left you that year, he might have had his own reason.”

“I don't want to listen to that.” Wendy covered her ears, sobbing. “He knew I was pregnant with hischild, but he still chose to leave me. His reason? What bullshit! I bet he was scared that he would sufferthe Hoffman family's wrath after eloping with me. He's a cowardly and worthless b*stard!”

Lionel couldn't say anything about that.

Outside the seaside mansion, a slender figure was weaving in and out under the trees like a phantomat night.

As she moved, she leaped nimbly across a high wall and entered the courtyard.

In the next second, her figure blurred, and she gracefully entered through the floor-to-ceiling window.

In the room, when Victoria was spacing out in front of her vanity table, she saw a silhouettematerializing behind her in the mirror. She was so shocked that she jumped from her chair.

Before she could let out a scream, a hand reached out behind her neck and covered her mouth.

“Vicky, it's me.”

Victoria was at a loss for words.

She knew it was Bailey since she had seen Bailey's face in the mirror. However, her self-preservationinstincts kicked in when Bailey suddenly appeared in her room, prompting her to scream.

After Bailey took her hand away from Victoria's mouth, Victoria turned and hugged Bailey tightly.“Bay...”

Bailey returned the hug and consoled her, “Sorry, dear. I'm late.”

After that, she pushed Victoria away and observed the latter. Her expression darkened when her eyesfell on the countless bruises and kiss marks on Victoria's neck.

“Did you sleep with Lionel?”
