Chapter 508

Chapter 508 Heartbroken

“What happened, Heather? Why is there suddenly an extra two million in my account? Did you transferthem to me?” Carmen asked the moment she entered the room.

Heather could feel a deafening explosion in her mind as her face turned pale and she began to lose herbalance.

“What else can you say for yourself now, Heather?” Demi finally spoke in a frosty voice.

It took a while before Heather turned to Demi and said, “Granny, I wasn’t the one who transferred themoney! I didn’t take the company’s money!”

“If you were not the one who transferred the money to your mother, who else could it be? Me?” Demiwas so angry that she tapped her walking stick on the floor three times, nearly damaging the tile. It wasevident that she was livid.

Heather stared at Jacob and muttered bitterly, “You are such a scheming person, Jacob. Just tell us ifyou want us out of your face. You don’t have to stoop so low.”

“Look at her, Granny! We have all the evidence and she’s still accusing me of slander. It’s not my fault!”Jacob said, looking innocent.

Outraged, Demi shouted furiously, “You are really a disappointment, Heather! I have decided to dismissyou and Lucas from the company. Not only that, you are both disowned from the family!”

“What?”

Carmen was completely confounded when she heard that. She did not know what was going on whenshe was brought back to the office.

My family is going to be kicked out of the clan? I did not expect this at all! What a tragedy!

Feeling shaken and extremely aggrieved, Heather could no longer control the tears that rolled downher cheeks.

She roared furiously, “When the company was in trouble and was about to go bankrupt, you all beggedme to exchange my body for that thirty million in order to save the company. At that moment, all I could.think of was my sense of responsibility as a Jennings. I sacrificed myself and divorced my husband. After that, you all wanted to reclaim the company’s shares, and you asked me to plead with thechairman of Four Seas Corporation. Once again, out of that puny sense of responsibility, I begged thechairman repeatedly to sell the shares to you at a low price. I’ve done so much for the family. Each timethe family is in crisis, I’ve come out to settle it personally. But what have you all done? Have you everconsidered that I am a human made of flesh and blood?”

She then turned to Demi and said, “And you too, Granny. Since my dad passed away in the caraccident, you have been siding with Uncle Brian’s family. Are we not your offsprings too? Was Dad notyour biological child? Clearly, Jacob and the rest of them are trying to frame me about this two million. It’s blowing my mind that you actually believe them. Not only that, you want to kick us out of the familytoo. How cruel of you!”

Heather spoke up against the Jenningses but nobody responded.

With tears running down her face, Heather turned and left the company.

She was utterly heartbroken.

At this very moment, Heather’s heart had completely sunk to the very bottom.

So this is the ending I get after all the sacrifices that I have made. What an irony!

“Heather?” Carmen attempted to catch up with Heather, but the security guards stopped her.

“Aunt Carmen, why the hurry? Transfer the two million back to us first,” Jacob said with a sneer.Carmen then transferred the two million that had appeared out of nowhere back to Jacob before out ofthe office.

Demi watched as Heather and her mother vanished. She then turned to look at Jacob and said grimly,“This is the very last time. One more time and you can forget about becoming the general manager!”Jacob was taken aback, but he still asked shamelessly. “What are you talking about, Granny?”

Demi snorted and said, “Do you really think I’m blind and deaf? You and Harper have deliberatelytransferred the money to Carmen just so you can frame Heather and force her to leave. Am I right?”
