Chapter 3172

If Duncan was not free, his three elder brothers would make some timeto help him handle the company matters so he could focus on hisrehabilitation and pursuit of Liberty.

“Alright, let's talk tonight.” Liberty hung up first. Her secretary hadknocked on the door to tell her a client had arrived.

She had to personally receive that client. If she could close a deal withthem, she needed not to worry about having no orders for the first halfof next year.

After Liberty hung up, Duncan pulled his phone away from his ear, butheld it in his hand, spacing out.

Zachary leisurely drank his coffee as he looked at Duncan. WhenDuncan came back to his senses, he met Zachary's gaze.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” he asked, bemused.

“What are you thinking about?” Zachary asked in return. “You went offinto outer space.”

“Before the car accident, I was always running after Liberty, but nomatter how I promised my sincerity, she had always rejected me,saying she only thought of me as a friend and that she didn’t want toget married again.

“After the accident, I wanted to cut all ties with her, afraid that I wouldburden her, but my mother asked her to take care of me, which gaveme hope again. Zachary, it wasn't easy for Liberty and I to get to thispoint.

“It was only after I lost the use of my legs that my mother and the restwere willing to accept Liberty. And for a time, Liberty was willing tomarry me. She said she would accept as long as I proposed to her. ButI didn’t know when I would recover and she was busy too, so I thought Iwould bring it up again after I recovered and she was no longer asbusy.

“But now that I want to get married, she’s changed her mind. Zack, itfeels like Liberty and I are never on the same page and are always onestep apart.”

Zachary wanted to say that maybe they were not meant to be, but heswallowed the depressing words. It was better not to say that. Duncanwas already anxious about it. If he voiced it, Duncan would feel evenmore heavy-hearted.

Taking Liberty's side, Zachary hoped Liberty would be happy. She washis beloved wife's only sister.

Out of their trio, Duncan was the only one still single despite being theoldest.

“Zack, what else should I do to strengthen my relationship with Libertyand make her believe in me and herself completely?”

After being questioned, Zachary fell silent for a bit before he spoke.“Duncan, I think you've done great already. You're sincere and genuine.“You don't have to deliberately do anything. Just do as you normally doand talk to Liberty often, visit her when you're free, and help her outwhen she needs it.

“Spend more time bonding with Sonny. I think Liberty's acceptance ofyou depends on your sincerity toward Sonny. A divorcee’s mainconcern when they want to remarry is if their new partner can accepttheir child and be good to them.

“You've done very well so far, so you don't have to deliberately doanything else. Just stay true to your sincerity.”
