Chapter 3171

“Registering the marriage won't take much time. You can just makesome time to come back.” Duncan insisted on them getting theirmarriage license first.

Once they were husband and wife in the eyes of the law, Liberty couldrelax.

He would officially be taken and any interested ladies would stay awayfrom him.

“Duncan, let's have a good chat about this when I have time. Youshould consider it carefully during this time too. Marriage is a big lifeevent and you shouldn't be impulsive about it. As a divorcee, I have tobe very careful about my second.”

Duncan could tell that Liberty did not want to get married to him rightnow. Perhaps she was too busy, or perhaps that dream had worriedher, but she had changed her mind again.novelbin

Her last sentence made it clear that the trauma from her last marriagehad cut deep.

He had not done enough. In reality, there were no such contenders forhis love, but just a dream could make Liberty worry that he would turnhis back on her, and change her mind about getting married.

“Alright, let's talk when you're free. Sonny will be going on winter breaksoon. I'll bring him over to visit you then.”

Zachary chimed in, “Sonny just told me yesterday that he wanted to goto FC Manor to visit Laurence during his winter break. When Serenasked why he didn't want to go to Jensburg, he said it was really cold.“Liberty will definitely be back for Christmas, so the little guy doesn'twant to go there. He said he'll just wait at home for his mom.”

Duncan was silent for a moment. “He didn't tell me that.”

Zachary laughed. “He's not asking you to go with him, so why would hetell you?”

He was Sonny's uncle. For now, Sonny's emotional scale was tipped inhis favor. Duncan was still just Dunc right now and was not Sonny'sstepfather yet.

Duncan was at a loss for words.

Liberty said, “It's the end of the year. All the big companies are gettingreally busy now. You don't have to come here, Duncan. You shouldhandle all the company’s affairs first so we can have a peaceful year.My company will be going on break too, so I'll come back then.”

She was also an employer now. Even if she did not want to take abreak, her employees did.

Since everyone was going on break and no one would be working, asthe boss, she naturally had to take a break too.

Before they did, though, Liberty wanted to close more deals so she didnot have to worry about not having any orders after the holidays ended.“It's fine. My company has been open for so many years, our businessstabilized a long time ago. The operations won't be affected even if I'mabsent for a month. My management team is very capable.

“I'll leave you to it, Liberty. I can hear someone knocking on your door.I'll call you again when you're free tonight.” Duncan could hear knocksfrom Liberty's side and stopped taking up her time.

Liberty's Jensburg company had just been established and was stillteething. Last weekend when he visited with Sonny, Liberty told himthat the company only had expenses and no revenue right now.

Even if they had orders, they had not sent any goods out yet. Thus, they had no revenue, and the small amounts of deposits received werenot enough to cover their daily expenses.

She was under immense pressure and did not know if she couldmanage the company well. She was in competition with FisherEnterprise and they did not want her company to do well either, constantly keeping tabs on her company. Both companies tried to stealthe other's business.

In contrast, Lewis & Co. had been established for over a decade.Business was stable and most of the management team had beenworking with Duncan since its founding, so he trusted them.

Even if he was not around, he did not have to worry. They would not tryto usurp him.
