Chapter 3147

Liberty was a divorced woman, while Mrs. Torres was a widow. They both had a son, but Mrs.Torres thought she was more capable than Liberty was.

She felt she had to fight for what she wanted.

She thought she had a greater chance of winning against Liberty.

Besides, Liberty was not in Wiltspoon at the moment.

Serenity remained silent.

Duncan smiled and said, “If you’re not in a rush, we can meet another day. Sorry for your wastedtrip.”

Mrs. Torres returned the smile. “It’s okay. You should handle matters of higher priorities first.”

Every business negotiation required several trips, or even over ten times going back and forthbefore it was finalized.

Mrs. Torres’s secretary pressed the elevator button again while she walked toward the back ofDuncan’s wheelchair, ready to push him into the elevator.

Duncan refused her help, saying, “It’s fine, Mrs. Torres. This is an electric wheelchair. I can control itmyself.”

Mrs. Torres smiled and withdrew her hands. She watched as Duncan brought Sonny into theelevator.

At first glance, most people thought Duncan was rough. He also looked scary due to the scar on hisface.

However, after interacting with him, Mrs. Torres discovered he liked children.

It was obvious from how well he treated Sonny. Even some father-and-son pairs were not as closeas Duncan and Sonny were.

Since Duncan viewed Sonny as his own and treated him well, Mrs. Torres believed that if she couldsnatch Duncan from Liberty, he would be accepting of her son as well, who was a few years olderthan Sonny. He was a thoughtful child currently in elementary school.

He was probably easier to handle than Sonny as well.

After Duncan entered the elevator, Mrs. Torres turned and said to Serenity, “After you, Mrs. York.”

Serenity entered without hesitation.

Mrs. Torres and her secretary were the last to go in.

Soon, they arrived at the first floor.novelbin

Mrs. Torres followed Duncan out. She talked to Duncan about the project they were working ontogether without giving Serenity or Sonny a chance to butt in.

She only stopped and bade him goodbye when his bodyguards pushed him to the car after exitingthe building. She also said goodbye to Serenity before leaving with her secretary.

As a woman, Serenity was sensitive.

She sensed that Mrs. Torres had feelings for Duncan, who was unaware of it.

However, it was just her guess. She would not tell Duncan but would talk to Liberty about it whenshe had time at night.

Lewis & Co. was not far from York Corporation. It was not the peak hours yet, so there was notraffic. They arrived at York Corporation within a short time.

When they entered the building, they met Josh, who was exiting.

“Duncan, Serenity.”

A few managers behind Josh greeted them as well.

“Uncle Josh.”

Sonny slid down Duncan’s legs and ran toward Josh happily.

The handsome little boy was famously recognized in the company as Serenity’s beloved nephew. He made an impression also because he often visited with Serenity. They adored the good-lookingand eloquent boy.

Even the senior managers behind Josh watched Sonny run over with warm gazes.

Josh lifted Sonny into his arms.

“Did you miss me, Sonny?”

“Not really. I missed too many people, so I forgot about you.”

Everybody laughed.

Josh flicked Sonny’s mouth lightly. He said, “Don’t I treat you well enough? I’m not even on the listof people you miss. I missed you so much.”
