Chapter 3124

Then, Austin went and slumped himself on the sofa while wondering what he should maketomorrow to conquer Isabella O’Connor’s tastebuds and become her family’s private chef.

Should he cook his best dish or something that he rarely made?

As he savored his tea, he made up his mind to make some regular dishes. If he cooked his bestdish right away, there would be nothing to show off later.

Those signature dishes would be saved for the grand finale.

However, it should be emphasized that his regular dishes were gourmet to ordinary people, stemming from his love of cooking and the vast experience that came with it.

For example, the treats he had made today were not what he was best at, but Isabella couldstomach them.

That was his guess anyway.

Otherwise, she would not have asked Dominic to call him back.

He wondered if he had any competition for the role.

Austin had just arrived in Satbury today and had no time to inquire about any competitors yet.

He did not think Isabella would call any of his competition back for an interview at the same time, though.novelbin

His phone beeped with a new message notification.

It was a voice message from Zachary asking if he had passed his interview.

Austin called Zachary.

“How’s it going, Austin?”

Austin laughed. “Don’t you have any faith in my cooking skills, Zack?”

Zachary said wryly, “I do, but it’s not me you’re up against. It’s Ms. Isabella O’Connor.”

“I haven’t met her yet. When I arrived, I rested at the hotel for a bit and had something to eat beforeI went for the interview. I met the O’Connors’ head butler Dominic, and the second eldest younglady, Ms. Tati; just not Isabella.”

Zachary could not help but laugh. “You went there so confidently, but you didn’t even manage tomeet her?”

“That’s normal. When someone interviews at York Corporation, they don’t get to meet you rightaway, do they? They have to meet the middle management and pass each stage before they get tomeet you.

“It’s the same for me. I met Dominic first, then Ms. Tati. They think I have a good chance ofsucceeding. I showed a bit of my skill by making some treats for them to try and Ms. Tati was full ofpraise for them. So was Dominic.”

“That’s of no use though. It’s Isabella who has to sing your praises.” Zachary chuckled. “What if youdon’t pass the interview?”

Austin was silent for a moment before he replied. “Why do I feel like you want me to fail, Zack? Yousound kind of gleeful.”

“No way. You’re my little brother. I’m most concerned about you, and Isabella is handpicked byNana as your future bride. If you don’t pass, I want to know how you plan to approach and impress

her next.”

If Austin was not his brother, Zachary would not care less about Austin’s pursuit of love, let alone beworried or curious.

“How could I possibly fail, Zack? I just got a call from Dominic asking me back for another roundtomorrow afternoon. He said that Isabella would be back for dinner tomorrow night.”

“Oh? Congratulations on passing the first stage, then,” Zachary praised.

“Thanks, Zack. I’ll definitely win her over with my cooking.”

The romantic pursuit was secondary. Austin was more interested in proving himself a good enoughcook to conquer Isabella’s tastebuds.
