Chapter 3109

Belinda would also pass on some stuff for Marc to bring home to Caroline.

In the past, Marc was deeply trusted by the Fisher family.

If the Dotts claimed their child was sick, Belinda would lend a helping hand.

With such consideration, the Dotts finally decided against killing Caroline.

However, they treated her badly. Caroline survived her childhood purely due to luck. It was alsothanks to her neighbors’ concern that saved her from starving to death.

When Caroline returned to the Fisher family, an elderly woman who used to look after her when shewas young had passed away. However, the woman’s daughter was still alive. Caroline gave thatfamily a huge sum of money.

She even arranged stable jobs for them in her own company to repay her gratitude to the elderlywoman for protecting and feeding her back when she was young.

“Even so, you raised her. You’re old and poor now. She should be repaying you with money sinceshe’s so rich,” Jacob complained.

His younger brother, Michael, added, “It’s fine if she doesn’t give us money. She isn’t our bloodanyway. On the other hand, our biological sister had never visited us or given us money afterknowing she was one of us. She didn’t even give us jobs.

“If she had given us easy jobs with high income, we wouldn’t have to work so hard just to put foodon the table.”

Carmen sighed and said, “Celine didn’t grow up with us. Having lived in luxury since she was youngand always thought of herself as the Fisher family’s heir, how could she have accepted the sudden

truth that we were her true family?

“Besides, Belinda couldn’t bear Celine leaving and let her stay as the second young lady of theFishers. Therefore, Celine’s priority was to please Belinda, not us.

“Let’s go. Get Cel’s ashes too.”

Celine was after all Carmen’s daughter. It was only right to take her ashes back with them.

Jacob said in disdain, “Why should we bring her ashes back? Even if she’s dead, she might notwant to return with us.”

Michael chimed in, “He’s right. What if she becomes an evil spirit and haunts us after dying in suchan unpleasant way?”

The brothers felt guilty.

While they did not push Celine off, she did fall because they got into a fight and shoved each other.

Initially, they intended to take Celine back and marry her off to receive some money in return, but…

“Let’s go. We got unlucky this time. It’s all because of Adrian’s wife. Why did she call us out of theblue?”

Jacob and Michael left angrily.

What else could Carmen do?

She looked toward Fisher Enterprise for a while before turning away and catching up to her sons.

The Dotts’ plans had ended the moment Celine died.

Their dreams of climbing up the social ladder and becoming rich by switching their child had broken.

Their family was shattered, and one of them paid for it with her life.

Carmen regretted it.

If they had raised Caroline with love, she would not have treated them so coldly, even after findingout the truth.

Carmen could understand why Celine was not willing to acknowledge them as her biological familyeither.

Since Carmen was aware of that, she rarely looked for Celine, not wanting to disturb her daughter’slife.

Carmen was content with having the knowledge that Celine was living a comfortable and luxuriouslife with the Fishers.

Nevertheless, the Dotts harbored wishful thinking.

They thought Celine, who was trained as Belinda’s successor, still had a chance to take control ofthe family because Caroline was useless.

If Celine became the matriarch, their lives would improve.novelbin

Even if any of Belinda’s sons took over the family instead of Celine, Celine would still reap manybenefits. The Dotts would still have hope.

However, the reality was not as sweet as dreams were.
