Chapter 2786

“Yeah. I’ll be heading back tomorrow. Liberty is busy. I don’t want to take up too much of her time. I’ll

take care of Sonny well when I’m back. Liberty won’t have to worry about a thing and just focus on

winning the battle for Sonny and me.”

Duncan laughed after speaking.

Liberty heard Duncan and said, “I’m afraid I might end up in a heavy debt instead.”

Duncan replied boldly, “What’s there to be scared of? You have me. As long as the debt isn’t innovelbin

hundreds of billions, I can pay it off for you. You can explore as much as you want. I’ll support you no

matter what. You don’t have to worry about suffering a loss or being in debt.”

Liberty was speechless.

A debt amounting to hundreds of billions?

She would never think of it.

With the assets she had, having such a debt would only make her hair gray from stress.

Zachary sent another voice message, “With you backing her up, Liberty can surely carve a path to

success in Jensburg.”

Duncan played the message for Liberty. He said, “Listen. Your brother-in-law has faith in you.”

“I’ll work harder with all the trust you all have given me so that I don’t disappoint anyone.”

“Don’t tire yourself out. Remember to seek my help immediately if you have any troubles. Although my

legs are crippled, my brain is still fine. I can still help in solving your problems.”

Liberty disliked hearing him talk about his legs that way. “You’ll recover. I don’t like you describing your

legs that way. You’re not allowed to do that anymore. I’m still waiting for you to stand up and marry me.”

Duncan had a huge grin on his face. “With those words of yours, I’ll definitely make a full recovery.”

Liberty blushed. She said embarrassedly, “Don’t chat with Zachary for too long and rest earlier. I’ll head

back to my room to rest too. I have some work errands to run.”

“Mm. Good night.”

Duncan touched his face, hinting at Liberty to give him a goodnight kiss.

She went closer to him and bent down to kiss his cheek with the scar.

After that, she caressed the scar on his face. When she and Sonny first met him, they were startled by

the scar. However, she was a mother who had to protect her son. Therefore, she never exposed her

fear.

She thought he was a gangster because he looked scary when he got mad.

At that time, she had accidentally bumped into his car. When she saw the man who got out of the car

had a knife scar on his face, she was frightened. The car she hit was also expensive. She thought she

would have to sell everything she had to compensate for the damage.

However, she ended up paying a considerably smaller amount.

Liberty found out afterward that Zachary had told Duncan that she was his sister-in-law. That was why

Duncan did not ask for full compensation.

“Did it hurt badly back then?” Liberty asked softly.

Duncan grabbed her hand and pressed it against his face. Then, he put her hand down and said, “It did

hurt. It had been a hard lesson learned. I’m always reminded that my grandmother, who loved me the

most, passed away because I had been an unfilial grandson. I made her worry, which aggravated her

condition.

“My mom kept persuading me to get a scar removal procedure. I did think about it when Sonny was

afraid of me. However, I decided against it when I thought about my grandmother. I feel guilty toward

her.”

Duncan became depressed upon mentioning his grandmother.

He regretted his rash and rebellious nature back in his youth.
