Chapter 2785

“Hank probably still has feelings for you,” said Duncan.

He did not mind Hank bad-mouthing him in front of Sonny.

The more Hank did that, the more Sonny disliked him. That only further strengthened Duncan and

Sonny’s relationship.

Duncan finally understood why Sonny would always treat him extra well after returning from visiting the

Brown family.

The kid probably felt sorry for him because of Hank’s mean words.

“He has fallen out of love with me long ago. If he loved me, he wouldn’t have hurt or betrayed me or

even allowed his family to bully me during our marriage. A man will never let the woman he loves be

bullied.

“Even if his wife has conflicts with his parents, he’ll think of ways to solve the problem instead of letting

his family accuse her.

“Hank just finds it unfair. It’s just as I said previously—if he and Jessica had a happy life and never lost

their jobs while awaiting the baby’s birth, they wouldn’t even care if I was dead or alive.

“His love for Sonny will only get weaker because of his newborn child with Jessica. He never had a

close relationship with Sonny, nor did he take care of him attentively before. How deep could his love

for Sonny even be?”

Duncan thought about it and hummed in agreement.

“Let’s not talk about unhappy things. I’m returning to Wiltspoon tomorrow, Liberty. You can accompany

me to shop for some new clothes and toys for Sonny. Help me to pick the toys he’d like. He doesn’t

seem to like the ones I bought for him every time.”

Liberty did not want to talk about her ex-husband too. Although she had gotten over everything, she

was still worried that Duncan would get jealous whenever she mentioned Hank to Duncan.

Duncan seemed to have weakened considerably after his accident.novelbin

His leg disability had stolen his confidence and made him vulnerable.

Liberty was always cautious when she was with him. She was scared of hurting his pride.

“Sonny has plenty of new clothes, and he hasn’t worn many of them. Children grow up quickly. There’s

no need to buy too many clothes for them. They’ll grow up before they can even wear everything, and

Sonny doesn’t have younger siblings to wear his hand-me-downs.”

Liberty had not bought new clothes for Sonny for a long time.

She did not have to because many people were spoiling Sonny. He had more than enough clothes,

shoes, and toys.

He even had tens of new bags, gifted to him once he started attending preschool.

Liberty felt like Sonny had so much stuff they could open a store.

“I didn’t tell Sonny that I was coming to see you. He got angry. If I don’t bring him presents, he’ll get

even angrier. Let’s get the clothes in bigger sizes. That way, he can still wear them next year.”

Liberty smiled. “Okay then.”

They shopped for the rest of the night. Although they initially agreed on getting only two sets of clothes

and two kinds of toys, their hands were filled with shopping bags when they returned to the hotel.

Once Duncan returned to his room, he took a picture of everything he bought and sent it to Zachary. He

told Zachary to show Sonny the picture.

When Zachary received the picture, he replied with a voice message, “Sonny’s asleep. He has to go to

preschool tomorrow. I’ll show him when he wakes up.”

Duncan replied, “It’s fine. I’m going back tomorrow. I’ll show him when I fetch him from preschool as a

surprise.”

Zachary smiled. “Okay. Are you really coming back tomorrow?”

Duncan had rushed to Jensburg just to stay for a night.
