Chapter 2756

“Thanks, but I’m fine,” Duncan said politely.

He had stayed in Fortress Hotel before this, albeit seldom. None of the employees remembered him,

the young master of the Lewises.

Well, even if Zachary was here, they probably could not even recognize the CEO of York Corporation

as well.

The person in charge of all hotels owned by York Corporation was Kevin. Most employees were

familiar with him.

Kevin bumped into Duncan while seeing Hayden off as Duncan entered the hotel.

“Duncan.”

Kevin was somewhat surprised to see him.

He had heard from Liberty that Duncan would be coming over.

However, Duncan’s arrival was supposed to be around two in the afternoon. Kevin thought he had yet

to arrive as Liberty had just returned and had not gone to fetch him from the airport.

That was why he was surprised to see Duncan being wheeled into the hotel by his bodyguard.

Kevin smiled and went to Duncan, asking, “Here by yourself?”

“Yeah. The plane was left in the airport. I rented a car before boarding the flight so I could come over

right after landing. I didn’t inform you guys beforehand because I knew you all were busy. I can managenovelbin

everything myself.”

Duncan looked toward Hayden.

She stepped forward and extended her right hand politely, “Hi, Mr. Lewis.”

Duncan shook her hand and told Kevin, “You must have things to discuss with Mr. Queen, Kevin. Go

ahead and don’t mind me. Liberty is in the hotel. She’s coming down to get me now.”

Kevin already spotted Liberty walking over while being flanked by two bodyguards. He smiled and said,

“She’s here. We’ll take our leave, Duncan.”

He winked at Liberty, which earned him a glare from her. He escorted Hayden out of the hotel with a

huge grin.

“Have you eaten?”

Liberty was concerned about whether Duncan was hungry.

Duncan touched his stomach and acted pitifully. “I haven’t been able to eat anything after hearing about

your accident last night. I haven’t eaten anything since this morning either. I’m hungry and thirsty now.”

The mouth of the bodyguard who was tasked to push Duncan’s wheelchair twitched.

He dared not tell Liberty that Duncan was lying.

Duncan had skipped lunch, but he did have his breakfast. He also had some food during the flight here.

Liberty looked worried. She took over the wheelchair from the bodyguard and pushed Duncan toward

the elevators. She said, “I told you I’m fine and not to worry about me. I’ve only been here for a few

days, yet look at how worried you are. How are you going to wait until this is over?

“Even if you’re worried about me, you shouldn’t let yourself starve. You’re almost forty, not a kid

anymore.”

Duncan replied, “I lost all my appetite because my mind was filled with you.”

“I’ll take you to eat something.”

“Okay.”

Seeing an unscathed Liberty who could still scold him, Duncan was finally relieved.

Liberty had been stabbed by a thug when she was trying to rescue Sonny in the past. Duncan still

shuddered whenever he thought of the scene where Liberty was lying in a pool of blood.

He was afraid that she would get hurt again.

He could save her last time.

However, he had not been able to be by her side to protect her.

It was difficult for him to move around with those useless legs of his. Not only could he not protect

Liberty, but he would also drag her down.

Duncan told himself that he would grab every opportunity he could to go for rehabilitation once he was

back in Wiltspoon. He wanted to walk properly as soon as possible. That way, he could always be by

Liberty’s side.

“Does Sonny know that you’re here?” Liberty asked.

She missed her son and sister dearly.
