Chapter 2746

If Liberty were in danger, the bodyguards would have reported to their bosses without being asked to.

“It’s great that you’re okay. I was so scared when I heard about the accident. I’m going to Jensburg

later, Liberty. I’ll be arriving before two in the afternoon.”

Liberty said, “I’m fine, Duncan. You don’t have to travel for this.”

It was inconvenient for Duncan to travel.

“I’ll only be reassured if I can make sure you’re okay with my own eyes.”

“I’m really fine. You can ask the bodyguards. None of us were hurt. It’s difficult for you to travel long-

haul.”

Duncan insisted, “But I miss you too. I miss you so much. I want to see you.”

Liberty could not say no to that.

“Be careful. Don’t push yourself if you’re feeling unwell. We have to take care of ourselves, Duncan.

Okay?”

Duncan said gently, “I’m not a child. I won’t head out if I’m feeling unwell. Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. See

you in the afternoon.”novelbin

“Okay. See you.”

Liberty ended the call and sighed.

Nevertheless, having someone concerned about her was a happy thing.

Duncan had given her what her ex-husband could not.

Maybe what Duncan had for her was true love. While Hank may have loved her, it was distorted by too

many external factors and caused their divorce.

Liberty was staying at Fortress Hotel. It was one of the York family’s businesses under Kevin’s charge.

If she wanted to meet Kevin, she could do so easily.

She most likely could not return to sleep.

After taking the painkillers, her headache went away. She took her phone and walked out of her room.

Then, she took the elevator to the top floor and knocked on Kevin’s office.

“Come in.”

Kevin’s voice rang.

Liberty went in.

Kevin put down his pen when he saw her and stood. He walked toward her and said, “You’re awake,

Liberty. Did you rest well last night? I hope you weren’t too shocked.”

Liberty used to be a white-collar before she got married to Hank. While she had been a capable

employee, it was nothing compared to the conflicts in the business world where lives were involved.

Kevin was worried that Liberty would be traumatized by the accident.

He invited Liberty to sit on the sofa and poured her a cup of tea. He was about to get some snacks until

Liberty stopped him.

“You don’t have to get any snacks, Kevin. I’m still full because I just had my breakfast.”

However, Kevin still brought her some fresh fruits.

“Did you just have your breakfast?”

He looked at the time. It was ten o’clock.

“Last night’s accident really shocked me and affected my sleep. I only fell asleep when morning came

around. Alas, a call from Serenity woke me, and it was already past breakfast hours when I went

downstairs. I had my breakfast outside.

“I was scared last night, but I’m fine now. I guess what I’ll be facing in the future will be worse than this.

The world now is all about survival of the fittest.”

Liberty took a sip of tea and asked Kevin, “Have you tried finding out what happened in the Fisher

family after we left? Did anything happen to Hunter and Celine?”

Kevin replied, “I already had someone look into it. Jim is on it too.”

Jim was Zachary’s most capable bodyguard. Zachary had assigned him to follow Liberty to Jensburg.

Liberty trusted Jim’s abilities.

Jim was chosen specially to suit Liberty’s personality.
