Chapter 2747

“Belinda was furious. Celine was chased out of the villa that night. As for Hunter, we’re not sure what

happened to him. I heard he was sent to the hospital in an ambulance at midnight. Belinda forbade

anyone from going to the hospital or asking about Hunter’s condition.”

Kevin paused for a moment.

Liberty took a few more sips of her tea. Then, she put her cup down and waited quietly for Kevin to

continue.

Kevin said, “I sent someone to the hospital to look into it.”

“How badly is Hunter hurt? Did Belinda do it?”

Kevin replied, “Belinda didn’t hurt him. Hunter castrated himself.”

He guessed that Belinda had forced Hunter to do so.

Otherwise, Hunter would not have done it.

Belinda most likely gave Hunter two options. Hunter would not choose divorce since the Clark family

needed the Fisher family to survive. However, he needed to convince Belinda, and the only way to do it

was by castrating himself.

Liberty blinked. She was stunned as she had not expected that outcome.

Kevin did not elaborate on Hunter’s injury. He simply said, “Hunter’s still alive.”

“It was difficult to obtain information about his condition. Belinda covered it up and stopped anyone

from spreading it. It’s an embarrassing matter for a man, especially for Hunter as the live-in son-in-law

of the Fisher family. He lost all his dignity.”

Liberty said calmly, “Isn’t the experience of a live-in son-in-law the same as most daughters-in-law? In

this case, only the roles and gender are reversed.”

Kevin was rendered speechless.

After a pause, he said, “I think Duncan will be a great partner, Liberty. Let bygones be bygones. We

should look forward and hope things only get better.”

He knew Liberty’s first marriage had brought her immense hurt.

Sometimes, she sounded like she was worn out by life, which was saddening. She was only in her

thirties—an age when more people were gradually choosing to get married late. There were people of

Liberty’s age who were still unmarried.

Liberty had gone through a lot.novelbin

Upon the mention of Duncan, Liberty smiled and said, “Duncan’s probably on his way here. He said

he’d arrive before two. He’s taking a private plane. I told him not to come because it would be difficult

for him to move about, but he insisted. He mentioned he would head back after taking a look at me.”

Duncan said he could only rest assured after seeing her unharmed with his own eyes.

Kevin said with a smile, “He must be worried after finding out about last night. He’ll come over even if

he can only crawl, let alone now that he can stand and walk for a bit.

“Duncan and Zachary are best friends. He’s also known us for many years. I know him well. Duncan’s

feelings for you are sincere, Liberty. If you think he’s a good guy, give him some hope.”

“It feels like everyone’s on his side now. I’ve thought it through. I shouldn’t tar all men with the same

brush as Hank. Duncan is great, and I do have feelings for him. I think we’re already acting like a

couple in our interactions. Hasn’t everyone already viewed us as a couple since a long time ago?”

Duncan was unwilling to make any promises to her because he still could not walk like he used to. He

was afraid of pulling her back.

Kevin quickly said, “I’m definitely on your side. If Duncan dares to bully you in the future, we won’t

forgive him. The York brothers will support you.”

“Duncan won’t give you all the chance to criticize him.”

Liberty had trust in Duncan. She believed that their life after marriage would be sweet and loving.

He was not Hank, who behaved differently before and after marriage.

Hank revealed his true feelings when they got their divorce. He did love her before. However, he ended

up restraining her with marriage to stop her from becoming too capable.

The Browns were excellent actors. They managed to fool Liberty. During that marriage, she became

detached from society, unhealthy, and also lost her job. She had lost her income just because she had

believed in Hank’s promise of providing for her.
