Chapter 2687

“You bastard. Now that you’re an adult, you and Camryn bully me together. I know everything. Your

intention for visiting Mom and Dad in prison wasn’t pure. I thought you missed them, but you were

aiming for their fortune.

“I have a share in our parents’ assets too, Trenton. Don’t even think of monopolizing it. Mom and Dad

love me the most. They won’t transfer everything to you. You should stop bothering them.”

Carrie had gone to visit her parents too. That was how she found out Trenton was trying to get their

parents’ assets that were not confiscated to be transferred to him while she and Camryn would not get

anything.

It was natural that Camryn would not get a single penny because she was not their biological daughter.

However, Carrie was. She was their favorite child as well. How could she not have a share?

Carrie had consulted a lawyer and was ready to fight Camryn through a lawsuit to get everything back.

However, she never expected that Trenton had planned to take everything for himself.

A book could not be judged by its cover. Her usually sensible and kind brother was actually that

ambitious.

No. Aunt Amy and Aunt Brenda had said it was probably all Camryn’s idea.

Camryn knew she would have to return the assets she had if Carrie were to bring the case to court.

However, based on Trenton and Camryn’s close relationship, transferring everything under Trenton’s

name could be a bridging strategy.

All of the Newman family’s assets would likely fall into Camryn’s hands, and Carrie would not even

stand a chance in court.

That was because their parents were still alive. They could give their assets to anybody. Carrie was an

adult, and her parents were no longer responsible for her. What could she do if they decided not to give

her any assets?

Carrie was enraged upon hearing Amy and Brenda’s analysis. She could no longer care about being

scared of Callum and those guard dogs. She immediately looked for Trenton and kept calling him to get

him to meet her outside.

That led to Trenton receiving a heavy slap from her.

Trenton had expected it somehow. He knew Carrie would find out about his request after he visited the

prison.

He said, “Mom and Dad can do as they wish. Will you be able to protect everything if they give it all to

you? Are you capable enough?”

“It doesn’t matter whether I can keep them or not. I can spend the money however I like. You shouldn’t

be tricked by Camryn, Trenton. She’s deceiving you. She wants to control the Newman family through

you and make us completely helpless.

“Are you really going to hand over to someone else the career that Mom and Dad had built for almost

half their lives?”

“When Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Abel were still alive, they also worked hard. They had

contributed a fair share to this house and those assets. It was not purely because of Mom and Dad’s

efforts,” Trenton retorted.

If their parents had truly built the family business from scratch, Camryn would not want to snatch it.

Even so, Trenton would not hand it over to Carrie.

With Carrie’s temper and abilities, or lack thereof, handing the company over to her would benovelbin

sentencing it to bankruptcy.

“Carrie, you shouldn’t listen to Aunt Amy and Aunt Brenda. They’re the ones trying to snatch our family

assets through you. You’re the one who’s being deceived. I promised Mom and Dad I’ll provide you

with living expenses once they transfer everything to me. I won’t let you go homeless or hungry.

“If you were to find a good man and marry him, I’ll prepare a grand present for you.”

After all, they were siblings. Trenton would not be ruthless to Carrie. Although he knew she was evil, he

would ensure she could sustain her life and not go hungry.

Of course, he would only provide her with the bare essentials.

There was no way Carrie could spend as lavishly as she did before.

If Trenton had not made that promise, his parents would not have agreed to transfer all their assets to

him.

Paige and Cain were aware of the personality of the daughter they raised and supported Trenton’s plan

when he proposed it to them.

They promised to give him everything because he was their appointed successor anyway.

While Carrie was favored the most, Paige and Cain had never viewed her as a successor.
