Chapter 2685

Since Laurence rarely visited, and his only friend in Wiltspoon was Sonny, Serenity could allow her

nephew to take a day off school.

Sonny nodded and guaranteed that it would only be this once.

Laurence said, “I’ll come again during the summer or winter holidays, Aunt Seren. That way, no one will

need to take a day off.”

“Can you please tell Mom now, Aunt Ser?”

Sonny wanted to confirm that he could get the day off as soon as possible, then he would be able to

play to his heart’s content.

Serenity looked toward Zachary, who looked away sheepishly. She scolded him mentally for pushing

the responsibility to her.

“Okay.”

Serenity called her sister. When Liberty picked up, she said, “Liberty, Sonny has something to tell you.”novelbin

After speaking, she handed the phone to Sonny, “You tell her.”

He took the phone and told Liberty why he wanted to take a day off school.

After repeating Serenity's words, Liberty agreed to let Sonny skip school for a day to accompany his

friend.

Sonny was delighted. He returned the phone to Serenity and hopped around happily with Laurence. He

even made a combat pose and said to Laurence, “I’ve been training very hard lately, Laurence. Let’s

have a duel.”

Laurence said confidently, “You’ll lose. Don’t get angry when you do.”

When they were fooling around during summer, Sonny had always lost to him and turned sulky.

Laurence remembered everything.

Mommy Jane said it was because he did not go easy on Sonny, who was a guest.

Sonny said, “I promise not to get angry.”

The boys started sparring.

Serenity greeted Ben and asked about Jane. She knew Jane was looking after the twins and said, “I’ll

visit her later. She rarely comes by and didn’t even tell me about this beforehand. I’ll take Sonny over

so you two won’t have to wake up early to come here.”

Ben said, “The twins went to bed pretty late last night. Jane is probably still catching up on sleep.”

“I understand. It’ll get better when they’re older. Their sleep schedule is messed up for now. They won’t

sleep even when you’re sleepy, and vice versa.”

Serenity glanced at the boys who were sparring. She laughed and said, “Sonny won’t even last three

moves against Laurence.”

Zachary added, “Laurence’s coach is different. Sonny’s progress isn’t as quick because he’s learning

martial arts systematically. The goal is to strengthen his body. Don’t you think he doesn’t catch a cold

as often as he did previously?”

Serenity only realized that after he mentioned it.

Ben saw Sonny pouting and looking unhappy. He said, “Laurence, you should’ve gone easy on Sonny.”

Laurence replied, “Mommy Jane said Sonny is a guest when he visits us, so I had to let him win.

However, now that I’m at his place, I’m the guest. He should be the one going easy on me. It’s none of

my business if he loses.”

On the other hand, Serenity said to Sonny, “You should accept your losses bravely. You and Laurence

were just having a friendly match. There’s no need to be obsessed with winning or losing.”

Laurence took two pieces of candy from his pocket and gave one to Sonny. “You promised not to get

angry. Here, take this. I hid it in my pocket and brought it here to share with you. Mommy Jane doesn’t

let me eat much candy.”

Sonny took it and said, “I wasn’t angry. You all were wrong. I didn’t get angry.”

Aunt Ser and Uncle Zak had told him that Laurence started learning martial arts earlier. It was expected

that he would lose to him. He had to face it.
