She had received news from Darren that her mother had returned to Jensburg.
She also knew her mom had gone to Fortress Hotel right after touching down to catch Hunter in the
act.
Caroline had pretended to know nothing about her father’s affair. However, as Kevin had mentioned,
she was the mastermind. Kevin was simply giving her a helping hand.
Belinda had informed everyone to gather at home. Caroline guessed that Belinda’s anger had reached
its limit.
She silently wished Hunter the best of luck.
Caroline’s brothers were nervous as they had no clue why Belinda suddenly summoned them back to
the house.
Not only that, they were puzzled by her early return. Did she not say she would only return a few days
later?
When Caroline arrived, Celine and her three sisters-in-law were already there.
Her brothers arrived shortly after.
When their gazes met, Adrian scolded Caroline, “Were you aware that Mom was returning earlier than
expected? You didn’t even bother to inform us. You’re quite slow to receive information for an heir.”
Caroline replied, “Even you didn’t know that Mom was coming back despite being closer to her, let
alone me. I’m scolded every day whenever Mom’s around. I’d be the last person she’d inform of her
return.
“I don’t have any supporters because all of you aren’t willing to cooperate with me. Doesn’t it make you
happy that my intel is outdated?”
After speaking, Caroline left her brothers and entered the house.
Adrian said to Justin and Jason, “Look at that country bumpkin. She retorted with so much nonsense to
just a couple of words from me. How dare she blame us for her incompetence and slow news? She
should blame it on her useless self.”
“You’re right. Nothing can change the fact that she’s a country bumpkin. She can never be an elite
lady.”
Justin echoed Adrian’s view.
“Let’s head inside. We still don’t know why Mom called us back. The atmosphere’s weird. I don’t see a
maid in sight.

Their guilty conscience kept them on their toes all the time.
“It’s not the first day Mom knows what we do outside. We’re just fooling around and won’t marry those
women. How could we not succumb to the temptation when we have social engagements every day?
As Celine said, everything’s okay so long as we come home and let our wives maintain their positions.”
Adrian hastened his steps and entered the house.
Once the brothers stepped inside, they sensed the heavy tension in the air. It was quiet, and no one
dared to speak. They slowed their steps unconsciously.
Their wives looked toward them.
Adrian tried to get information out of Emma through a questioning gaze.
However, they soon found out what was happening.
They saw their father kneeling on the ground.
Hunter’s face was swollen and on his clothes were blood stains, most likely belonging to himself
because the corners of his mouth were bleeding too.
