After Hunter was taken away, the woman was left to suffer from the spectators’ criticisms.
Knowing she was a homewrecker, no one sympathized with her despite her wounded state.
She dragged herself up and left.
She had no idea that Hunter was Belinda Fisher’s husband. If she had known, she would not have
fooled around with him.
The woman also did not expect that mentioning her other lover’s name did not help her at all and made
her suffer a beating. It used to work every time.
Kevin brought Hayden into a private room in the hotel.
While waiting for the food to be served, Kevin asked, “Was the show interesting?”
They had only arrived at the hotel minutes after Belinda did.
Of course, Kevin did not let Hayden watch Belinda catch her husband cheating in front of the hotel
room. Instead, they lounged in the hotel lobby for a while.
If it were not for the woman attempting to escape, they would not have had the chance to witness the
entertaining part.
“It was exciting,” replied Hayden.
“Did you do everything discreetly? Don’t let Madam Fisher find out you were behind this. She has a
loyal personal assistant, just like every matriarch before her. He is highly capable and often plans
everything Madam Fisher wants to do.”
Kevin said, “I wasn’t the only one setting this up. Caroline was involved too. She had chosen the
woman and orchestrated an ‘accidental meet-cute’ with her father. He ended up enchanted by the
woman.
“I won’t let Madam Fisher trace anything back to me. It all seemed like a perfect coincidence, without a
sign that there was a mastermind behind it. I can protect myself and prevent Madam Fisher from
discovering Caroline’s involvement.”
Kevin knew Hayden admired Caroline. Since Caroline seemed sincere, he had decided to help her this
once.
Actually, Caroline was using Kevin too.
“Besides, even if Madam Fisher finds out I had something to do with it, what can she do to me? The
Yorks and Fishers are already on the way to becoming enemies anyway.
“She can no longer stay comfortably in the position she had stolen. It has been decades. It’s time she
returns the position of the matriarch to Serenity’s generation.”
After a short silence, Hayden said, “It’s a pity for Caroline. She’s a nice girl.”
“Caroline’s a cunning one too. She can still stand out without the Fisher family. She has her ownnovelbin
career. Before Madam Fisher brought her back, she already possessed several companies. She holds
all the shares for three companies and sixty percent of the fourth company.
“I think she’d have more freedom without the Fishers. Based on her abilities, she can grow her
companies and live a better life.”
Hayden looked toward Kevin. “You seem to know a lot.”
Kevin smiled. “We have the Buchams on our side. While Caroline can keep a secret from others, she
can never escape their eyes.”
Hayden kept quiet. She knew how skilled the Buchams were.
After a few minutes, she said, “The women who married into the Fisher family are so unlucky. All of
Madam Fisher’s sons had cheated on their wives. Hunter had set a bad example.”
“I wonder if Hunter will continue to be beaten up once they’re home. She did not hold back at all just
now.”
Hayden glanced at him. “Are you thinking it’s unfair for him? Do you think he’s pitiful and Madam Fisher
is too cruel?”
“No. Definitely not. Hunter deserved it. How can I possibly pity him? He brought everything upon
himself. He embarrassed all men.”
Kevin was worried that Hayden would generalize that all men were like Hunter, so he quickly changed
the subject to prevent her impression of him from being affected.
