Chapter 2583

Julian chuckled and said, “It seems like elders are all like that, right? My parents are the same. Theynovelbin

love to nag. My dad, even though he’s such a macho man, he’s no different. Not to mention my mom.

Whenever I see my dad now, I’m like a mouse meeting a cat. I just want to hide in a hole to avoid his

nagging.”

They both got into the car.

Julian, who initially thought he would be driving, saw Quinn go ahead and sit in the driver’s seat. He

asked, “Are you driving?”

“Yeah, I’ll drive. You’re not familiar with this place, and my car is pretty normal. I’m afraid you won’t be

comfortable driving it. Don’t worry, I’m a good driver, and everything will be fine.”

Julian walked around the car and took the passenger seat. He fastened his seatbelt and added, “I’ve

driven all kinds of cars before. Back when I didn’t make much money, I rode bicycles, and e-bikes, and

even took the bus.

“Now I drive a slightly more expensive car when I go out, mainly to keep up appearances.”

If Julian had not revealed his identity to her, he would have wanted to explain that he still had a car loan

to pay off. However, Julian did not continue the deception because it would be hard to deceive her

again.

Quinn understood and said, “You’re already a CEO, so when you go out, you should drive a nicer car to

maintain your image. My dad and brother also drive better cars when they’re meeting with friends. For

daily use, they use cars that cost a couple hundred thousand.

“I’m driving a car worth about a hundred thousand now. I think having a car solely as a means of

transportation is good enough. No need to pursue expensive cars.

“Of course, it’s also because my wallet isn’t thick enough. I can’t afford pricier cars.”

Her savings were not substantial.

She had only been working at her family’s martial arts gym for a few years, and she had used most of

her earnings to buy her current car. When she recently took her students to Wiltspoon for the martial

arts competition, she paid for their stay at Wiltspoon Hotel out of her own pocket on top of covering

their shopping and souvenirs.

As a result, her savings were almost depleted.

Now, she had to start saving again, aiming to buy her own place in a few years. Her family had a few

houses, but all of them belonged to her parents. Her brothers had to buy their own place with their

hard-earned money. Their parents did not lend a single penny.

Her parents said that the family had money, but not a cent was earned for them. If she and her brothers

wanted money, they should work hard to earn it themselves. Even when working at their family gym,

they were paid based on their performance, just like any external coach. There were coaches who

were more skilled and earned higher wages than they did.

Indeed, she was the daughter of the gym’s owner. However, besides the right for her to call the owner

her father, she had no other privileges.

Her parents said that the children would have a share of the family wealth only if they allowed it, and

the children should not rely on their elders’ wealth but strive to earn their own fortune.

If they were not capable of generating and multiplying wealth, any inherited money would be spent and

wasted; if they were already capable, they would not have needed to rely on their parents for money in

the first place.

Julian tempted her, “Interested in a job switch? If you work as my personal bodyguard, I can give you a

significantly higher pay and elevate your income.

“I assure you top-notch welfare benefits, far superior to what you get from working at your family's

gym.”

Quinn glanced at Julian and immediately returned her attention to the road. She chuckled, “Stop pulling

my leg, Mr. Bucham.”

“I told you to call me by name, yet you persistently address me so politely. We’re friends now, there’s

no need to be so formal.”
