Chapter 2584

Quinn said, “Your martial skills are so good that you don’t really need bodyguards. That night, I think I

acted too quickly. Even if I hadn’t intervened, those thugs wouldn’t stand a chance against you. You

would have surely handled them quite effectively with your skills.

“I interfered and acted rashly, which actually robbed you of the chance to show your skills, and I missed

the opportunity to witness your full capabilities.”

Julian hurriedly responded, “I’m indeed skilled, but I’m not as formidable as you imagine. That night,

there were too many of them. I wouldn’t have been able to handle them all on my own. I’m not as

skilled as you.

“I have bodyguards at home, but I rarely use them. Occasionally, I might go out with a couple of them.

However, the bodyguards I’ve hired are typically just tall and imposing. They might know a few basic

moves, enough to intimidate troublemakers, but they wouldn’t be effective against skilled fighters.

“If we encountered martial artists like last time, they wouldn’t be much help. In situations like that, they

wouldn’t be nearly as effective as true experts like you.”

Julian did his best to downplay his bodyguards’ abilities.

After all, they were not with him right now. He could say whatever he pleased since they would not be

here to hear it, let alone correct him.

Even if they were around, they dared not speak up.

To get close to Quinn, Julian had even let her beat them and handed them over to the police station.

Although they had recovered and were discharged from the hospital, they had to avoid Quinn in the

future, making sure not to show their faces in front of her to prevent her from recognizing them.

Quinn asked, “The public security in Wiltspoon is still quite good. Did you investigate the incident last

time? I suspect it was a setup targeted at you especially.

“Occurrences like this won’t happen every day. You don’t even require bodyguards usually, so there’s

no need for extra security personnel. I’m already accustomed to teaching martial arts in my gym. Plus, I

like teaching the kids, and I wouldn’t want to change my job.”

Quinn did not want to be a bodyguard. She would only consider the offer if she was backed into a

corner and was unable to find any other jobs.

She preferred her current job, as it allowed her to apply all the skills she had learned in the best

possible way.

Plus, she had more freedom working in her family gym. Even if she got scolded by her father or brother

for messing up, she was already used to it and would not feel particularly aggrieved.

She could save on food and rent for she had a home to go to every day. Her salary was also all hers to

manage.

Many of her students envied her.

Julian said, “I had someone investigate the matter, but nothing came up yet. I think someone wasnovelbin

targeting me, purposely intercepting me when I left late at night. They either want to beat me up or

kidnap me. There’s nobody in the streets that late. If I got kidnapped, even shouting for help would not

do me any good.

“Or do you think that being my personal bodyguard is not good enough? I can arrange other jobs for

you. If you want to switch jobs, just give me a heads up and I’ll assist you anytime.”

Julian realized that he could not coax Quinn into working for him, so he made sure he conveyed his

wishes to her.

Quinn said with a smile, “Thank you for the offer, but I’m afraid I’ll have to refuse. Even if I’m not

working at my family’s gym, I can still find a job by myself. Searching for a job is easy, searching for

one that has good pay and little stress, is hard.

“When times get tough, you’ll be willing to do anything, even scrap collecting.

“I really hope I don’t reach that point though. But if it comes to that, I guess I’ll shamelessly come

clinging to you for help haha.”
