Chapter 2480

Lilian’s words made Camryn realize that Paige played a role in her infertility.

She had always thought it was due to her poor eating and sleeping routine during puberty and the

abuse she had endured. She did not expect Paige to have done something else to her.

Was her mother really the culprit?

Even wild beasts would look after their young. Her mother was truly no better than an animal.

On the contrary, Paige was extremely caring toward Carrie and Trenton. Her love for them was sincere.

She simply disliked Camryn, the child who resembled her the most.

If Camryn had a choice, she wished to take after her dad’s features more than her mom’s. Sadly, she

looked strikingly similar to Paige.

Callum thanked Lilian once again.

Lilian smiled and said, “You don’t have to be so polite. If you really want to thank me, preparing a feast

for me before I return to Annenburg will be sufficient.”

Callum’s cooking skills were superb. Although Tim cooked too, he was not as good as Callum.

Callum was also in charge of York Corporation’s food and beverage businesses. He could make a wide

variety of cuisines as he had tasted great food from all over the world.

Callum grinned. “Camryn and I can do that for you every day as long as you’re willing to grace us with

your presence.”

“You and Camryn are busy people too. How can I possibly ask for something like that? One meal

before the day I return to satisfy my cravings will be enough.”novelbin

Lilian looked at the time and said, “It’s late. I have to leave now. Remy and Elisa are treating me to a

meal.”

Since she said so, Callum did not keep her and together with Camryn, they saw Lilian off.

Callum said, “Will you be eating at the manor? We’re heading back there later too.”

Lilian always stayed at Wildridge Manor whenever she visited Wiltspoon.

It was huge, and the scenery was incredible. She never got bored with her stay there.

However, she could not stay long because she had a crybaby back home. Her mentor could not always

babysit as he had to keep track of his other students’ progress too. She had also resumed her house

calls and had to be out and about for patients.

Lilian only stayed in Wiltspoon longer than usual because of her friendship with Serenity and others.

She smiled and said, “I’ll only return to the manor in the evening. I have to visit a patient later.”

Some families with close relationships with the Yorks had caught wind of Callum inviting the legendary

doctor’s student to heal Camryn’s eyes. Therefore, they took advantage of their connection to the Yorks

and asked Lilian to their houses to check on their sick family members.

Lilian accepted their requests. She would help any patient who sought her help as long as it was within

her capabilities. If there was no more hope for the patient, she would be frank with their families so that

the patient could enjoy their remaining life without regrets.

Death was part of the circle of life, just like aging and illnesses were.

Even a doctor like her could not heal herself from a terminal illness.

Doctors were not gods. They could never bring the dead back to life.

If it came to that, the only sensible thing to do was to accept fate and face it head-on.

“Okay. I’ll head to the manor earlier and prepare some dishes for you.”

Lilian laughed. “Seems like I’m in for a good treat.

“I’ll bring my chef here with me next time. Please give my chef some culinary tips. That way, I won’t

have to come to Wiltspoon whenever I crave your cooking.”
