Chapter 2478

Carrie cleared the food served on the table without minding her image at all.

Mrs. Clark only managed to eat a few spoonfuls. She smiled as she watched Carrie gobbling

everything down.

After Carrie was done eating and wiping her mouth with a satisfied expression, Mrs. Clark asked, “Are

you going back on your own, or shall I have someone send you?”

“I’ll take the taxi, but I’m afraid you’ll have to pay the taxi fare upfront for me.”

Mrs. Clark nodded. “Sure. You can take the taxi back.”

She then handed Carrie a thousand dollars in cash and said, “This is for the taxi.”

Carrie kept the money and did not linger any longer. She got up and told Mrs. Clark, “Thank you for the

meal. Looking forward to a pleasant partnership.”

Mrs. Clark nodded with a smile. “I believe we’ll work well together.”

Carrie departed and Mrs. Clark paid the bill before leaving the diner upon seeing Carrie get into the

taxi. Her subordinates were waiting for her.

Once in her car, she said to the person in the passenger seat, “Get someone to keep an eye on

Carrie’s moves in the Newmans’ villa and help her whenever they can. We shall stop Camryn from

being in control of the Newman family.”

“Understood,” said the person in the passenger seat respectfully.

Meanwhile, at the Newmans’ villa, Camryn was sitting in the living room with Lilian checking her eyes.

Callum observed nervously from the side and dared not make a sound for fear of disturbing the

examination.

When Lilian started writing a prescription, he asked, “How are Camryn’s eyes now, Dr. Carden? Has

she recovered?”

Lilian said, “Not a full recovery yet. If she doesn’t continue the treatment, her recovery will stop herenovelbin

where she’ll be able to see, but limited to short distances and blurry vision. Similar to someone who

has severe short-sightedness.

“Her sight will only return to normal after a long period of treatment. After that, I’ll give her some

medicine to improve her general health.”

Callum was relieved after hearing Lilian’s words, but he got nervous again when she said Camryn’s

health needed improving. He quickly asked, “What’s wrong with Camryn’s body?”

Lilian glanced at the couple and said, “Camryn may look healthy, but her condition isn’t great. If she

isn’t nursed back to being in the pink, it’ll be difficult for her to conceive.”

Camryn and Callum exchanged glances. She said, “Thank you, Dr. Carden. Please continue taking

care of me even after my eyes are healed.”

The days Camryn spent living with her biological mother were harsh. It was no wonder her health had

deteriorated over time. For her to be alive until now must have been thanks to her dad watching over

her in heaven.

Camryn’s mother had wished to rip her to shreds. She thought of strangling Camryn to death but did

not have the chance to do so, as the nanny taking care of Camryn was too attentive.

“Don’t worry. I’ll restore your health so you can get pregnant and give birth after getting married.

However, you may have to be on medication for quite some time.”

Camryn said, “That’s fine. I’m not scared of anything as long as I can regain my health.”

She was also thankful to Callum for hiring Lilian. The doctor had incredible skills. She was not only able

to treat her eyes but also improve her general health.
