Chapter 2476

A hint of hatred flashed across Carrie’s eyes. She said, “In that kind of environment, most people get

straightened out.

“You mentioned you wanted me to provide you with information, Mrs. Clark. How much will you pay

me?”

Carrie was unemployed. After going to prison, her stuff was sent to her parents but belongings like her

phone, bank card, and car keys were probably with Camryn when her parents were also jailed.

While Carrie could retrieve those things from Camryn, she still had no say in Newman Enterprise. Not

only was she unfamiliar with the company, but Camryn also had Dalton and Callum’s support.

Moreover, Camryn had probably been entirely in charge of the Newmans’ family finances after beingnovelbin

the head of the family for some time.

Carrie felt disgusted at the thought of her needing to ask Camryn for her allowance.

Mrs. Clark said gently, “You only have to find out information about Serenity and send it to me promptly.

She’s the York family’s missus now. Everything she does draws attention. It shouldn’t be too difficult of

a task for you.

“Aside from that, you can tell me about the people around Serenity as well, such as Zachary, the Stone

family, and Liberty; if you do hear anything about them.

“We have to investigate everything thoroughly for the best opportunity to strike and get our revenge.

“As for your reward, how much do you want?”

Carrie said, “Although gathering information isn’t difficult, I’ll be in trouble if Mr. York finds out. That itself

is a dangerous matter. I’m risking my life for this.

“You can’t be unfair to me. Since we’re working together, you can show your sincerity by giving me half

a million dollars every month. After all, I’ll have to hire many third-party services to execute this, which

requires a lot of money.”

Mrs. Clark thought Carrie was greedy for requesting half a million per month.

She initially wanted to give Carrie an allowance of thirty to fifty thousand dollars per month.

Any more than that was unacceptable.

It was not as if Carrie was her only option. She simply needed a sacrifice.

However, Mrs. Clark did not reject Carrie right away. She smiled. “Half a million dollars per month isn’t

a small sum. You have to prove your abilities are worth that much.”

Mrs. Clark took a sip of her drink. She found the diner’s tea bitter and stale.

The disdain in her eyes disappeared fast.

“What do you expect of me?”

Half a million dollars was not a small sum to ordinary people, and Carrie was well aware of that. She

knew nothing about Mrs. Clark’s financial background but the lady’s car looked average at best, not

even as luxurious as her car before she was jailed. Mrs. Clark’s subordinates drove vehicles that were

pretty cheap too.

Carrie reckoned the woman was most probably not rich.

Mrs. Clark smiled and said, “Have you thought of what you’re going to do after returning to the

Newmans’ villa?”

Carrie spoke with a resentful expression, “I’m going to get my revenge. Camryn has made a living hell

out of the lives of my parents and me. How can I let her be in control of my family?

“I’ll take back everything that belongs to the Newmans.”

Mrs. Clark said, “It’ll depend on whether can do so. If you’re confident, I can pay you a million dollars

per month. We can join forces.”
