“We gather intel for people. My family is huge, and we’re good at collecting information. Since we often
help others to gather information, some people get offended.”
Quinn blinked and smiled. “So you’re a private investigator?”
“Something similar.”
“Is it profitable?”
Julian said, “Pretty much.”
He found her question funny, and his affection for her deepened.
Well, he did fall in love with her at first sight, but his love grew deeper with every look at her. She was
the only person who could make his heart beat fast.
Julian had to hold himself back every time he saw her to prevent himself from making any weird
moves. Only the heavens knew how much he wished to hug and kiss her.
He had never experienced hugging or kissing a woman despite being over thirty years old.
No matter how beautiful or sexy other women looked, his body had never reacted to them.
It was only Quinn whom he desired.
“You have a huge family… By the way, is Mr. York’s right-hand man, the one I saw during the wedding
yesterday, related to you?”
Julian dared not keep any more secrets. He nodded. “He’s my cousin. He doesn’t work at our family’snovelbin
company because he was lured into York Corporation by Zachary. He’s been working tirelessly for him
since then, but he likes it.
“I’m the eldest in my generation, so the family business falls on me. My cousins are free to do whatever
they wish.
“People usually address me as Mr. Julian.”
Quinn did not know the influence the Buchams had in Wiltspoon. They have always kept a low profile,
but they were feared by those who worked in the same industry and wealthy people.
Most ordinary citizens commonly knew Zachary as one of the most remarkable men in Wiltspoon.
Since Quinn lived in Summervale, she did not know much. She only heard of Zachary and Serenity’s
story right before heading to Wiltspoon and paid more attention to the loving couple. As for the rest,
she never tried to know more about them.
She said, “I guess they can address you however they wish.”
Julian never explained his identity further. Anyway, he already said everything there was to say. Quinn
simply did not know the Bucham family well enough.
If she found out about it later, she could not blame him for lying. He had already explained his family’s
side business to her.
“Why didn’t you and your cousin interact much during Mr. York’s wedding?”
“We’re not brothers, so to speak. Even biological brothers don’t get along well, let alone cousins. Josh
and I don’t fight, but we simply don’t have common topics to talk about. Besides, he has to take care of
his pregnant wife.”
Quinn saw the point in Julian’s explanation. She and her cousins had a distant relationship too.
Sometimes, they did not even greet each other.
Seeing that Quinn had no further questions, Julian breathed a sigh of relief.
He was safe.
