Chapter 2447

“It was best if I was trained to protect myself, so my parents sent me to martial arts classes when I was

only a few years old. I was talented and became highly skilled in it after about ten years.

“Of course, I’ll still be at a disadvantage when many people come at me all at once. If it weren’t for you

rescuing me the night I ran into the motorcycle gang, I would’ve been in trouble.

“No matter what, you saved my life. Although you have a noble character and refused my offer to return

the favor, I don’t want to stay indebted to you. I was only trying to repay you by registering as a

member at your gym and paying you via fees.

“Sorry for lying to you, Ms. Crawford.”

Quinn stared at Julian and he grew nervous from her stare. He was scared she would be furious at his

deceptions.

Besides, his explanation was still a lie. The only truth was that he was skilled in martial arts.

“Were you using your friend’s lying story to test my limits about being lied to?”

Quinn was a straightforward person but not a fool. She did not think the story was related to him when

he spoke of it, but she could not help but think of it that way after hearing what he had just said.

He must have revealed his abilities after hearing her opinions about being lied to.

The revelation could also be pure coincidence, as he had to save her when she was in danger earlier.

Julian blushed. “You’re right. I wanted to come clean after finding out you didn’t like being deceived, but

I couldn’t find the right words. Since I showed my skills during the emergency just now, it was annovelbin

opportunity for me to tell the truth.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Crawford. It was terribly wrong of me to lie to you.”

Quinn asked, “Is there anything else that you’re keeping for me? I can forgive your stupid method of

repaying me, but I truly treat you as a friend. I won’t dare to be friends with you anymore if you do this

again.

“We haven’t known each other long, so there’s still a lot that I don’t know about you. I guess it’s normal

that you’re letting me discover various sides of you, but I wish whatever you said before didn’t contain

any more lies.”

Quinn was not unreasonable. She had only known Julian for half a month at most.

There were also many things about her that Julian was unaware of. She was not keeping anything from

him. They simply did not know each other well enough.

At the same time, she did not know much about Julian either. She believed that she could uncover

more sides of him after getting to know him better.

Quinn asked Julian not to lie to her about anything in the future, be it through his words or actions.

“There are no more lies. I’m indeed the CEO of Bucham Group, and my family is rich. My family doesn’t

only do business. We have some side business that I haven’t told you about. Is this counted as a lie?”

Quinn smiled. “I’m not doing an interrogation here. Keeping some things about your family’s business

from others is normal. It isn’t lying.”

“But my family’s side business has some dangers associated with it. You might get involved in the

mess if we become close friends. We’ve offended many people through the business.”

Quinn asked, “Is it smuggling? Money laundering? Or drug trafficking?”

Julian was speechless. “We don’t do anything illegal. On the contrary, we often aid the police in

catching criminals.”

“What industry is your family’s side business in?”

Quinn was relieved that Julian denied being involved in illegal activities.

If Julian’s family dabbled in those, not only would she stop being friends with him, but she would also

report his family.
