Chapter 2399

Quinn put down her bag of mozzarella sticks and went to fetch her father a bottle of good wine and a

few wine glasses.novelbin

Dave poured Julian a full glass and asked, “Do you drink?”

“Dad, Mr. Bucham has to socialize for business, so he has to drink,” Quinn replied on behalf of Julian.

Julian smiled. “Alcohol and business go hand-in-hand, but I don’t usually drink a lot. Two glasses is my

limit for beer, and I can handle a glass of liquor. I won’t let myself go wasted. It’s not good for my

health, and anything can happen.”

“That’s good, Julian. You must know your limit when it comes to drinking,” Zoey praised him.

Julian’s face beamed.

He had a good understanding of the Crawfords’ individual personalities.

If Julian’s close friends were there, they would roll their eyes at Julian’s statement. There was no way

Julian would stop at two beers.

Julian had lied through his teeth.

It would take more than two glasses of beer to take Julian down.

Besides, beer was not Julian’s usual choice of alcohol.

Dave poured his glass to the brim. He could indulge in his alcohol craving since they had a guest.

His sons felt the same way too.

After Will and Mark filled their glasses with alcohol, Quinn wanted to pour some for herself. However,

Zoey, who brought out the last dish from the kitchen, gave Quinn a nudge and stopped her from

drinking.

Zoey wanted Quinn to project a good image in front of Julian.

Quinn asked, “Mom, can I have half a glass, please?”

Everybody could enjoy a nice drink, but she could not. She would toss and turn at night, thinking about

the rich scent of the wine.

Zoey glared at her.

Quinn pursed her lips and relented in the end. She got up and grabbed sparkling juice from the fridge.

At least, she could enjoy some bubbles.

Julian noticed it, but he said nothing.

He wanted to leave a good impression on his future mother-in-law too. Zoey would not look at him

favorably if he insisted that Quinn should drink when Zoey had already forbidden her.

Although Julian was accustomed to the rich and expensive cuisines, he found home-cooked food at the

Crawfords’ absolutely delicious.

After dinner, Julian stuck around at the Crawfords’ home for two hours before excusing himself.

The Crawfords got up to walk him out. Zoey asked with concern, “Do you have a place to stay?”

“I’ll stay at a hotel.”

Zoey replied, “Okay. We have a hotel nearby. Quinn can take you there.”

Julian was more than happy with the suggestion.

Quinn took Julian out to the nearby hotel to check-in.

Once they were far from the others, Julian asked, “You must like to drink, right?”

“My family loves to drink and eat rich, flavorful food, except for my mom. My mom doesn’t smoke or

drink, and she wants us to have a healthy lifestyle too. We only get to indulge when we have guests

over.”
