Chapter 2373

“Don’t take anything they say to heart. Don’t believe their nonsense. If you can’t trust me, what makes

you think you can trust them?”

Trenton nodded his head.

He trusted Camryn.

“Camryn, I won’t fall for their lies again.”

Camryn gave a nod and said, “You’re the kindest, most righteous person in the family. You stick to your

true self, and you don't let anyone else, not even your parents, dictate your beliefs. You are your own

person."

Paige often told Trenton to bond more with Carrie because they were siblings while Camryn was just

his half-sister.

Trenton did not listen to his mother. He had always been fond of Camryn and could not help but cling to

her, no matter what others thought.

“Can you tell me what happened while I was in school, Camryn?”

Trenton knew Camryn was harsh, but not to the point of being unsympathetic.

Camryn initially did not take much action against her aunts, Brenda and Amy. If they had not fought for

the inheritance, she would have turned a blind eye.

She simply kicked the members of the Chandler and Joyner families out of the Newman family

business.

Camryn had mentioned that the Chandlers and Joyners had been abusing their power at the company,

taking bribes, and so on. They had embezzled a lot of money from the company.

Cain brushed the misconduct aside in the past. Since he was the authoritative figure, these family

members would not act cocky in his presence. It was a different story now that Camryn was in charge.

She fired everyone who was not contributing to the company’s success, regardless of their

connections.

As a matter of fact, she dismissed them without seeking legal action against them.

Upon Trenton’s return home this time, he saw his aunts begging Camryn for mercy. He thought that the

Chandlers and the Joyners must have done something to make her so angry that she bankrupted the

families.

Trenton noticed that his aunts were dressed in plain clothes, and their faces were bare, which they had

never presented themselves as such before.

If so, they might be broke.

Camryn said indifferently, “It’s all in the past. I’m fine, and they’re the ones suffering the

consequences.”

Even though Camryn spoke lightly of the matter, Trenton believed she must have been in danger.

Still, Trenton let it go since Camryn did not want to talk about it.

After a long silence, Camryn said, “Carrie will be out early next year.”

Trenton pursed his lips at the mention of Carrie. He replied, “So what? She’ll only cause a commotion

at our home once she’s released. Just watch out for her. She will be together with Aunt Brenda and

Aunt Amy.”

Amy and Brenda’s favorite niece was Carrie.

Camryn smiled. “She didn't scare me when I was blind. I doubt it makes a difference now that I can

see. She’s just a spoiled brat.”

Without her parents’ support and financial resources, Carrie would not amount to anything.

She was sitting duck.

Everybody in Wiltspoon was aware that Camryn was now the head of the Newman household.novelbin
