Chapter 2359

“I came today to apologize to you in person. I’m sorry. I truly am. I will apologize to others I have scared

too.”

Harvey had a plan to chase after Liberty, but he could not possibly be honest right away.

He used the apology as an excuse and included other people so as not to raise suspicion. Otherwise,

Liberty would not accept his apology.

Liberty poured Harvey a glass of water and responded, “I accept your apology, Mr. Gray. I’m happy for

you to sober up and not dwell on past pain.

“There are many fish in the sea.”

Harvey smiled and said, “Yeah. There are plenty of fish in the sea. I can’t force what’s not meant to be

mine.”

Liberty did not accept the flowers from Harvey. Instead, she said, “I accept your apology, but I can’t

accept the flowers. Please take the bouquet with you.”

Harvey did not insist and put the bouquet on her desk instead.

He looked at Liberty in hesitation and said, “Ms. Hunt, I didn’t come just to apologize today. There’s one

more thing I need your help with.”

“Do tell, Mr. Gray.”

Liberty did not give an answer immediately as she wanted to know what it was all about first.

“My girlfriend is now together with the son of my former boss. I lost my girlfriend and my job. I have

spent most of my savings being unemployed, and I probably can’t keep up with rent in another two

months.

“I’m in urgent need of a job, but my former boss’ son put the word out to stop me from getting hired in

Wiltspoon, so I won’t have the means to take revenge on him.

“I wouldn’t waste my time on him. I admit that I was upset and wanted them to feel my pain when I first

found out. But I realized that it’s not worth fighting over someone who is wealthy. I’m just an employee,

and I don’t have the resources to fight him.

“I am not after revenge, but the man prevented me from getting a job. I was under a lot of pressure and

started drinking. I am aware that I scared people, and I am sorry for that.

“Your restaurant business seems to be doing well. I wonder if you can offer me a job. I will work hard. I

won’t slack off. I’m not asking a lot for wages. You can decide on that.”novelbin

If he could get a job in the restaurant, he could earn an income and be close to Liberty too.

“I understand that your sister is the wife of the wealthiest family in the city. Those people wouldn’t harm

me if I could work with you. At least, I can earn a decent living in Wiltspoon.”

Harvey was honest about one of the reasons he wanted to work in All You Can Eat Restaurant.

He simply left out that he wanted to be close to Liberty and pursue her too.

Liberty replied apologetically, “I’m sorry, Mr. Gray, but I’m not hiring at the moment.

“What is your previous work experience? Maybe I can introduce you to work in York Corporation or the

Stone Group.”

Her brother-in-law owned York Corporation while the Stone Group was her aunt’s family business.

Liberty could make an exemption and recommend Harvey to Zachary or Clive if he was up for the job.

Harvey blushed embarrassedly and replied, “I’m just an ordinary skilled worker. I was a welder, and I

worked with steel.

“I wouldn’t dream of joining a major corporation.”

Harvey knew where he stood. His skill set was not appropriate for employment with York Corporation.

“Um, I’m sorry I can’t be of any help.”

Harvey fell silent for a while before rising to his feet. “Thank you, Ms. Hunt. Sorry to bother you.”

Before Liberty could reply, he pulled the chair and turned on his heel to leave. He quickly disappeared

out of Liberty’s sight.
