Chapter 2351
Serenity could not convince Elisa. At the same time, she was moved by Elisa’s devotion to sisterhood.
Elisa had been nothing but kind to her before they found out they were cousins. She was a true friend
because she would do just about anything for a friend.
However, Elisa did not consider just anybody as a good friend. Apart from her long-time best friend,
Serenity and Jasmine were also in Elisa’s close circle.
“You need to sit down and talk to Remy. Get his take on it. If he isn’t on board, I don’t want you to have
a fight with him because of me, Elisa.”
Serenity took Elisa’s hand and said, “I want you to be happy. I don’t want to be the reason that comes
between your marriage to Remy.”
Elisa held Serenity’s hands and replied with a smile, “Don’t worry, Seren. We won’t fight. I believe
Remy will understand where I’m coming from. Besides, our plan is to get engaged and not rush into
marriage.”
Remy could not wait to start a new chapter in his life, but he did not bring that up because he respected
Elisa’s decision.
In Wiltspoon, no one dared to pine for Elisa except Remy, who chased after her relentlessly.
For starters, Elisa did not have a good temper. The men did not want to marry a woman who could
potentially bring trouble to the home.
Secondly, these men could not match the Stones’ social status. The upper crust of Wiltspoon knew that
Elisa was the apple of the Stones’ eye.
Besides, Audrey could be pushy.
Some families believed it would be difficult to get along with the Stones, especially with Audrey as the
mother-in-law. They thought that it would only worsen the relationship between the two families.
Moreover, everyone in Wiltspoon knew that Elisa used to have a crush on Zachary. These men couldnovelbin
not even measure up to Zachary, so they would most likely not make the cut for Elisa.
If Audrey had not intervened, Remy would not have to worry about anyone else stealing Elisa away
from him. He could accept whenever Elisa felt ready to walk down the aisle.
Audrey’s disapproval and Julian’s meddling lit a fire under Remy, so he could not rest until he had a
ring on Elisa’s finger.
“Seren, let’s not fuss over my wedding anymore. I came here to tell you that Remy and I are getting
engaged. We’re going to pick a date to have the engagement party. Remy is asking my opinion on
whether to have the party in WIltspoon or Annenburg.”
Serenity said with a smile, “That’s between you two. You can discuss and decide on the matter.”
Remy adored and respected Elisa. He was a man of quality.
Elisa said, “I want to have the party in Wiltspoon. I was born and raised here. Wiltspoon is everything I
know. I don’t know anybody in Annenburg. Um… I haven’t yet blended into his family’s circle.
“But Remy is a member of the Johnson family. He’s Ben’s brother. I’m concerned that people might
misinterpret and say that Remy is marrying into my family instead if we don’t host the engagement
party in Annenburg.
“He loves me and respects my wishes. I love him too, and I want to consider his best interests as well.
It can’t be all about me.”
Serenity could not give Elisa any suggestions as it was between the couple. They should be the ones
to decide about their engagement.
“Your wedding is coming up, and we all have been busy for the past few days. My engagement with
Remy can wait. Remy and I will have a talk after your wedding.”
Elisa was not seeking Serenity's opinion. She simply wanted someone to confide in.
Serenity said with a smile, “Have a nice talk. It hasn’t been easy for you two to come this far. Do you
remember Remy seeing Zachary’s cousin, Andrew, as a rival? He said Andrew looked at you with love
in his eyes.”
Elisa replied with a blushing face, “He was so overly suspicious then. Andrew was just impressed that I
was different from the rumors, but Remy misconstrued that Andrew had feelings for me. I know my
mom tried to play matchmaker, but Remy was concerned that Andrew would steal me away too.
