Serenity laughed. “Of course. Not just anyone can handle Julian’s special condition.”
“He found the woman destined for him,” Elisa said.
“I know. Julian told Zachary about it a few days ago. He wanted to bring Ms. Crawford to our manor for
a visit and Zachary agreed. Nana said Ms. Crawford was smart and sporty, a perfect match for Julian.
She mentioned that only a woman of Ms. Crawford’s caliber could be the Bucham family’s head
missus.
“Nana also talked about Ms. Crawford’s exceptional skills in martial arts. Zachary would not be able to
win against her. She had been training since a young age, and her family had been involved in martial
arts for generations. How can an amateur like Zachary beat her?
“I’m an amateur too.”
Elisa smiled, “Zachary’s face might turn dark upon hearing our words. He’s overconfident and arrogant,
always thinking he’s the best man in the world. He won’t be satisfied if you label him as an amateur in
martial arts.”
“If he’s unsatisfied with it, he can challenge Ms. Crawford. I believe she’ll put him in his place.”
Elisa said, “Why do I think you’re actually looking forward to Zachary challenging Ms. Crawford, Seren?
Would you have challenged her too if you weren’t pregnant?”
“Not at all.”
Serenity refused to admit it. She said, “I’m aware of my standards. My lame fighting skills can only
defeat some gangsters with the element of surprise. I would definitely lose if the situation called for a
head-to-head fight.”
Her unexpected retaliation had been a considerable advantage when she was surrounded by
gangsters who attacked her before. Otherwise, she would have lost to their sheer numbers.
“Do you and Remy plan to get engaged or married yet, Elisa?”
Serenity brought the conversation back to Remy and Elisa, a matter she was most concerned about.
“We plan to get engaged first. Mrs. Johnson said they’d be back with an official marriage proposal after
your wedding to choose a good day for the engagement, as well as our marriage date, and ask for our
approval.”
Serenity said, “You can get engaged first and have your wedding before or after New Year’s Day.”
After thinking about it, she smiled. “I might not be able to move freely by the time you get married.”
She would be carrying a big belly, and probably could not even attend the wedding.
“I’ll get married to Remy after your baby’s born. We can get engaged and obtain our marriage license
first. The reception can wait. Remy won’t have any opinions about it.”
A marriage license was enough to prove them to be husband and wife. Elisa was not making Remynovelbin
wait for eight or ten years anyway.
“You don’t have to consider my timing. This is your big day and path to lifelong happiness.”
“No. I want you to be at my wedding. Since I would be able to witness your happiest day, it’s only right
that you get to do the same on mine too. You and Liberty are my only relatives on my mom’s side. No
way I’ll let you be absent for my wedding.”
Elisa was insistent. She would discuss everything with Remy.
