Chapter 2281

It was Julian’s first time being attracted to someone. He could no longer contain his emotions.

“Dad, Mom, I didn’t want you to find out so soon because I was afraid your enthusiasm might scarenovelbin

Quinn. However, you misunderstood that I had feelings for Ms. Stone and came to ask for her hand in

marriage without my permission. Hence, I have no choice but to tell you about Quinn to put your minds

at ease.

“You’ll definitely have a daughter-in-law, but it won’t be Ms. Stone. Please stop disturbing her from now

on.”

After Julian spoke to his parents, he apologized to Elisa. “Sorry for all the disturbance and trouble I’ve

caused during this period. I had no choice but to do this for Andrew because I lost to him in a bet.

“Don’t blame Andrew. He was just scared of Mrs. Stone.”

Since the news of Julian’s love interest had satisfied Elisa’s curiosity, she was no longer angry.

Besides, Serenity had also come clean and told her the truth. Even if Elisa had been furious, her anger

had dissipated.

She said generously, “I know my mom was the cause of this. Seren told me about it before I came

home. Mr. Reading had shared his worries with Zachary as he wanted my mom to give up on setting

me up with him.

“I can understand why Zachary suggested the idea to Mr. Reading. They’re cousins after all. How could

he not give some advice when his cousin approached him for help?”

Remy was speechless.

It turned out that Zachary was the one who provided the idea.

To think that he trusted Zachary so much. Although their families were close and had business

collaborations, Zachary showed no mercy when deceiving him.

Julian smiled. He said, “Most people’s comments about Ms. Stone have been untrue. I’ll slap anyone

who says you’re arrogant and unreasonable to protect your reputation.”

Elisa was a generous, rational, and kind girl. Some outsiders must have been jealous that she could be

herself as she was born with a silver spoon. Therefore, they slandered her and ruined her reputation.

Meanwhile, Elisa did not care about what others said and continued doing whatever she liked.

As time passed, her reputation was utterly destroyed.

Luckily, Remy had a sharp eye and fell in love with her.

Elisa grinned nonchalantly. She said, “Their mouths belong to them, and they can say whatever they

want. I’ll refute them if I happen to hear something, but I’ll act like they didn’t say anything if I can’t hear

them. They can talk all they want about me, and I won’t be affected at all. Why should I ruin my mood

because of them?”

That was Elisa’s character.

Julian told Remy, “Mr. Johnson, you’re a lucky man with good taste.”

Remy smiled. “Thank you. I think I’m a lucky guy too.”

His gaze toward Elisa was filled with affection.

Julian turned to the Stones elders and said, “Mr. and Mrs. Stone, look at how in love Mr. Johnson and

your daughter are with each other. Although the Johnsons do live pretty far away, Remy’s remaining in

Wiltspoon long-term. The villa adjacent to yours, currently under renovation, belongs to him too. He’ll

be living there in the future.

“If you acknowledge Mr. Johnson, you’ll gain an outstanding son-in-law. Even if you oppose their

relationship, I think you’ll still accept him in the end. Otherwise, you’ll regret missing such a great son-

in-law like him and feel guilty toward your daughter.

“The main cause of the incident today was Mrs. Stone too.”

Audrey pressed her lips together and kept quiet while Darrell looked sheepish and was stumped for

words.

Truth be told, Darrell admired Remy a lot. It was his wife who strongly objected to their daughter

marrying into a family living far away.
