Chapter 2278

Julian and Elisa would have gotten along well if not for his existing condition.

Alas, he had a tricky illness.

Everything was up to fate, but Elisa and Julian did not share the same thread of destiny. Neither of

them would be happy if they were forced to be together.

Although Audrey could not bear Elisa leaving after marriage, she hoped Elisa could attain happiness.

She did not want Elisa to be a widow.

“Mr. Julian is here, Mr. and Mrs. Stone,” informed a maid.

Audrey had never looked forward to Julian appearing as much as she did now. She said, “Quick, invite

him in.”

Not long after, Julian entered and Elisa happened to have returned as well. Remy was with her.

“Dad, Mom, what are you guys doing?”

Julian looked embarrassed when he saw the gifts on the coffee table.

“You rascal. You didn’t tell us that you’re attracted to someone and worried us all this time. We’ve been

thinking of how to save you. You, on the other hand, kept the fact that you’re in love with Elisa a

secret,” Walter scolded once he spotted Julian.

Julian’s expression was dark. “When did I say I liked Elisa? I don’t like her, and I’ve never loved her.”

The Bucham couple exchanged glances. Stacy then asked puzzledly, “Julian, why did you give Elisa

flowers and presents despite not having feelings for her? You even picked her up at the airport after her

business trips. You’ve never done these things before.

“These are all actions of pursuing a woman. Which man doesn’t give a woman flowers and gifts whilenovelbin

in the courting stage?”

“That was because I made a bet with Andrew. I had to solve one of his problems unconditionally

because I lost. His request was to make Mrs. Stone give up on setting him up with Elisa.”

Everyone was speechless.

“Elisa and I didn’t just meet today. My disorder has been around for some time too. I would’ve fallen in

love with her long ago if I did have feelings for her. Why would I only pursue her now? Besides, my

disorder wouldn’t have been discovered if I liked her.”

“You’re not ill. That’s a special condition. Stop labeling yourself as an ill person.”

As a mother, Stacy could not stand Julian saying he had an illness when he simply had a particular

condition. He was perfectly healthy.

“Were you speaking the truth, Julian?” Walter asked while glaring at him.

“Dad, Mom, I found the girl who can make my heart race. I’m unconsciously attracted to her. She’s only

twenty-four years old this year. Therefore, my destined woman will never be Ms. Stone.”

Julian did not want his parents to discover Quinn’s existence this soon. However, he had no choice but

to announce it to make them give up on Elisa.
