Chapter 2274

“Ms. Stone, um… What's going on? I kept it a secret. How did it get leaked?”

Elisa angrily uttered, “How would I know? You’re the heir of the Buchams, for Heaven’s sake. How am I

supposed to know when you don’t? Mr. Bucham, you started it and dragged me into this. I don’t care

where you are and what you’re doing right now, but you must come here. Stat!”

Knowing he was at fault, Julian embarrassedly said, “Don’t be mad, Ms. Stone. It’s my fault, and I got

you into this. I’ll head there right away to explain to my parents. Please let me know if you ever need

my help. I will assist you unconditionally.”

Julian, who was in the wrong, made a promise to Elisa as the last thing he wanted was for Elisa to hold

a grudge.

“I’ll keep that in mind. I won’t be shy to ask when I need you.”

Elisa then hung up.

Serenity, who had heard the whole phone conversation, waited until Elisa tossed her phone aside

before approaching her. She picked up Elisa's phone and placed it back in front of her.

“Wow, you’re mad. You nearly broke your phone.”

“Julian will have to compensate me for a new phone if it breaks. What the hell was he doing? Why did

he get me involved?”

Elisa got a call from her mother to hurry home. After she inquired, she realized that Walter knew about

Julian's attempts to woo her.

Worried that his son would remain single forever, Walter took the psychic's word and searched for

suitable girls to marry. For a while, Walter gave Julian pictures and arranged dates, but nothing came to

fruition.

The higher society of Wiltspoon was aware that Walter was all out to find a wife for his son. He would

arrange dates for Julian to meet with girls who could hold a conversation with him, but everyone knewnovelbin

about Julian's illness. The ladies might be pleased with Julian's looks, status, and wealth, but no one

wanted to be in a sexless marriage.

Hence, Julian never advanced further than the first dates.

Somehow, Walter discovered that Julian had been pursuing Elisa by sending her flowers daily and

fetching her from the airport when she returned from her business trips.

Walter and Stacy were overjoyed, believing that Elisa was the woman destined for their son.

Thinking that the psychic recommended by Grandma May gave the wrong reading, they visited the

Stones with gifts to discuss Elisa and Julian's wedding. The whole stunt gave Audrey and Darrell quite

a fright.

In fact, the Stones had been on tenterhook, knowing they could only keep the matter hidden for so

long. Walter would find out sooner or later, and he did.

Serenity asked, “Did you say Walter and Stacy went to your house to discuss your wedding to Julian?”

“Yeah. Julian is the heir of the Buchams, and yet he can’t keep the information from getting out.”

Elisa started to doubt Julian’s ability.

Feeling bad, Serenity said, “Walter is the head of the Bucham household, and Julian is his heir. He isn’t

the one running the house yet.” Seeing her cousin's fury, Serenity felt guilty and responsible.

“Julian doesn't have romantic feelings for me, and neither do I for him. I have no idea what he's up to. I

asked him why he keeps sending me flowers, but he wouldn't tell me. He's definitely making Remy

jealous.”

“Elisa, I’ll be honest. Aunt Audrey has something to do with it.”

Elisa looked at Serenity suspiciously, “So you know the truth, Seren?”

“I found out not too long ago, but I didn’t know how to bring it up to you. I’m sorry.”

“Just tell me. I won’t get angry. How is my mom involved in this? But Julian did talk about my mom

sometimes.”

Serenity hesitated for a bit before responding, “Aunt Audrey doesn’t want you to marry and live in

another city. She wants to break you and Remy up and set you up with Andrew, Zachary’s cousin.”
