Chapter 2263

“Don’t worry, Boss. We’ll hold the fort.”

The diner was relatively empty at this hour. Barely any customers came in after ten for breakfast but

the early morning rush could be quite busy.

Of course, the servers hoped the business did well as their livelihoods depended on it.

All You Can Eat was located near Lewis & Co, a commercial space Liberty rented from Duncan.

Mrs. Lewis was strongly against Duncan and Liberty being together when Duncan first confessed his

feelings to Liberty. Liberty once thought about moving the diner elsewhere to avoid Duncan.

In the end, Liberty decided to take the bull by the horns.

Liberty drove to Lewis & Co., reaching the office building in mere minutes.

The security personnel of Lewis & Co. immediately opened the gate for Liberty and watched with a

smile as she drove past the gate into the compound.

The security guard then shut the gate and returned to his post to say to his colleague, "Liberty just

joined the company when I started working here. Unlike before, she’s currently a transformed person, a

total knockout too. She came to the office for an interview but wasn’t hired at first. Mr. Lewis happened

to return to the office and personally employed her.”

The other guard only joined the company later, so he had never seen Liberty back in the day.

He started working and found out that his employer, Duncan, had a crush on Mr. York’s sister-in-law,

Liberty.

Liberty rarely visited Lewis & Co. after finding success in her health management.

She also hardly came by ever since finding out that Duncan had feelings for her.

“Did Mr. Lewis fall for Ms. Hunt after her transformation?” the new colleague curiously asked.

“I don’t think so, but Mr. Lewis has always been nice to Liberty. Before, Mr. Lewis was nice because of

Mr. York since Liberty is his sister-in-law. Mr. Lewis is drawn to Liberty’s son, Sonny. The boy is the

most adorable thing. Mr. Lewis may seem like a rugged man, but he has a soft spot for children.”

Duncan's appearance gave off a rugged sense of manliness.

“Mr. Lewis asked Liberty to come early to the office to exercise by running around the garden in front of

the office building when she started working here. He encouraged her to also focus on her health while

she regained her footing in her career. I believe he wasn’t interested in Liberty romantically at the time.”

The new colleague replied with a smile, “I didn’t know Mr. Lewis and Ms. Hunt had such a past. It

sounds interesting. Has she changed significantly since then?

“Yes, she was a totally different person. Between you and me, I would've been critical of her previous

appearance if I were her husband. I heard she stopped caring for herself after getting married, but now

she looks great and confident. It’s easy for women to neglect themselves after having a family with

kids.”

The new colleague smiled and asked, “Are you critical of your wife?”

“I'm grateful that my wife loves me for who I am, despite my wealth, and is willing to work hard with me

to build our family. Do you think it's easy to find a wife who is willing to do that these days?”

Liberty was oblivious to the conversation between the security guards.

Still, Liberty was aware that there was a lot of gossip about her and Duncan every time she came tonovelbin

Lewis & Co.

Liberty parked her car and headed straight for the office lobby with the breakfast takeaway.

“Liberty.”

While on her way, those who recognized her said hello and she smiled at them in response.

Several minutes later…
