Chapter 2177

That night, the couple was chatting till the wee hours. Eventually, Serenity was so tired that she fell into

a slumber, which put an end to their conversation.

The next day, Serenity was woken by some door knocks.

The knocks were similar to those that happened at midnight a year ago. She was under the impression

that Zachary would not return, so she locked the door. However, she ended up being awakened by

Zachary’s knocks on the door.

She opened her eyes, tilted her head, and looked at her side. Zachary was not around.

She supposed that he had gotten up early to make her breakfast.

The knocking soon ceased as the door was opened.

Zachary opened the door, only to see his nana. He greeted her.

Grandma May pushed him away and entered the house directly while asking, “Where’s Seren?”

“She’s still sleeping. Did you spend the night traveling over here? You came at such an early hour. How

do you know we’re here?”

Upon learning that Serenity was still sleeping, Grandma May softened her voice. As soon as Zacharynovelbin

moved closer to her, Grandma May slapped his arm and told him off, “How dare you take Seren to the

city so late at night. Luckily, she’s in good health. If anything had happened to her, I would deal with

you.

“Now that Seren is pregnant, I must come back. Although it’s important to choose partners for Peter

and Dylan, Seren is more important. Is Seren fine?”

Actually, Grandma May only arrived this morning.

Noticing the absence of Zachary’s car that he usually drove, Grandma May guessed that the couple

had left Wildridge Manor. Only after asking the security guard on duty did she find out that the couple

left the manor last night.

Grandma May headed straight to Brynfield.

She knew full well what was on Zachary’s mind, given that she raised him.

Sure enough, she was right.

“Nana, your granddaughter-in-law is in robust health. She’s fine. She got the munchies and felt like

having some spicy fries last night. The snacks in the house couldn’t satisfy her, so I took her to the

city,” Zachary answered Grandma May in a low voice.

He explained the reason he secretly came to the city with Serenity.

“Seren wanted to stay here last night, so I fulfilled her request. Nana, I’m doing everything to make your

granddaughter-in-law happy. Don’t keep blaming me.”

Zachary was arrogant to others. However, in the face of his nana, he was an ordinary grandson.

When Grandma May punched Zachary, she would do it mercilessly.

Having said that, it had been ages since Grandma May last punched him.

“Just satisfy all of Seren’s cravings. This is how pregnant women act. They suddenly feel the urge to

eat something. If they fail to eat what they want, they’ll feel uncomfortable. They won’t feel good and

content until they get to eat it.”

Grandma May laughed and said, “I was like this when I was just pregnant with your father. But our

circumstances back then weren’t this good. In that era, even distinguished families had trouble fulfilling

their wishes.

“It’s different from your era. Plenty of off-season products are available.”

“What breakfast are you making? I think I smelled something sour.”

Zachary replied softly, “Your granddaughter-in-law wants to eat sauerkraut today. I’m going to make her

some pulled pork to go with the sauerkraut I bought at the market. Just as I got the sauerkraut ready,

you came.”

Grandma May walked to the kitchen and glanced around. She did not enter the kitchen but turned

around and walked to the couch. She sat down and ordered Zachary, “Prepare one bowl for me too.”

“That’s for sure. Since you’re here, I’ll definitely make you one.

“Nana, you may rest first. I’m going to make breakfast.”

“Go ahead.”
