Chapter 2176

Serenity hurried Zachary while grinning.

Zachary watched her fasten her seatbelt before he started driving.

He drove around leisurely before returning to their house in Brynfield.

Although it had been ages since the couple stayed at their Brynfield home, Mrs. Lane would come over

daily to clean the house. She would also look after the plants that Serenity grew on the balcony.

Upon entering the house, Serenity switched on the lights. Then, she headed straight to the swing on

the balcony and sat on the swing. Sighing, she said, “This is the swing I’ve been dreaming of.”

The hilltop villa had a swing too but what she missed about the house was the swing.

Perhaps this was where Zachary and her relationship developed.

After all, it was not the same.

Zachary poured her a glass of warm water. After that, he switched on the lights on the balcony and sat

beside her. Once he lifted his head, he saw the two bamboo poles used for drying clothes.

He remembered that Serenity went all the way to her hometown to chop these bamboo poles and

brought them over.

“Seren, what was on your mind back then? You actually went all the way to your hometown just to chop

the two bamboo poles. In fact, you could’ve tied two long iron wires, which could also be used for

drying clothes.”

Serenity looked up and saw the two bamboo poles. She smiled and said, “I have no idea either. At that

time, I felt the need to hang two bamboo poles there to dry clothes. Then, I thought of the bamboo in

my hometown, so I went back to chop them.

“Back then, you were not bothered about anything. You left home early and returned late. The house

might be large, but it lacked many household products. I had no choice but to deal with it on my own.

Come to think of it, it was silly of me to do it.”

Zachary hugged her, letting her lean on his shoulder. He said apologetically, “At that time, I was biased

against you. I felt that you deceived Nana and were eyeing my family’s wealth. I wanted to test if you

were as good as Nana described you to be.

“What’s more, this house was bought at the last minute. I had never stayed here before marrying you.

This place didn’t give me a sense of belonging at all.

“That’s why I left you alone without taking any action. When I saw you bringing over two bamboo poles

that you had chopped, I found it strange and wondered why you would come up with the idea of going

back to your hometown to bring over two bamboo poles just for drying clothes.”

Serenity replied, “You’ve been a young master for a long time. Having led an easy life, you need not

worry about trivial matters like this.

“I did such a silly thing only because I had no one to rely on. If my husband had settled it, I wouldn’t

have done such a silly thing. Haha. Come to think of it, I was indeed silly back then.novelbin

“I wasn’t the only one. You were silly too. You rinsed the newly-bought suit. I knew you secretly bought

a new suit and bluffed me later on.”

Serenity realized it afterward.

However, she remained silent on the matter and pretended not to know.

At that time, the couple planned on living together but not for the rest of their lives.

They had even signed a contract.

Zachary had destroyed the contract.

That man was too cunning.

Not only did he destroy the contract, but he also lied to her.

Zachary kissed Serenity’s cheek, his eyes beaming. “Are we staying overnight here to reminisce?”

“Duh. Whenever I’m back here, I’ll recall our memories.

“Zachary, you didn’t woo me the way your brother did to his wife. We got married straight away without

getting into a relationship or dating first. Now that I’m recalling our past, at least there were still lots of

sweet and fond memories.”

They were an exemplification of couples who got married before falling in love with each other.

This house was where their love began.

After Serenity finished the glass of water, Zachary got up and bent over to carry her.

“It’s getting late. Let’s go to our room and take a trip down memory lane.”

“We can’t do it now.”

“Yeah. But being able to sleep with you, I’m more than content.”
