“Me too. I’ll like it whether it’s a girl or a boy. Of course, I’ll be happier if we have a girl.”
Zachary grinned and watched his wife finish the spicy fries.
After saying that, he felt like his words would make Serenity feel pressured to have a daughter, so he
quickly added, “Seren, you don’t have to feel pressured to have a daughter. Both Nana and my mom
didn’t get girls like they wanted.
“Since they failed to have a daughter, they have no right to pressure you.”
Serenity laughed. “I’m not pressured. The elders in your family aren’t picky either. They’re happy
enough that I can give you a baby.”
She did not get pregnant for a year after they married.
Everyone was worried that she was sterile.
The York family went from wanting her to give birth to a daughter to just getting pregnant.
Now that she was pregnant, it meant that the young couple was healthy. The elders were very happy
with that and would not be picky about the baby’s sex.
Zachary also laughed, thinking that what she said made sense.
Serenity put down the plate, and Zachary asked, “Do you want seconds?”
“I can eat more, but it’s getting late now. I won’t be able to sleep if I eat too much, so I’ll pass. I’ll come
back tomorrow to eat. I like the sauerkraut here.”
Zachary said indulgently, “I’ll cook it for you tomorrow.”
“Great.”
If he wanted to cook, Serenity would not stop him.
After settling the bill, the couple walked out of the restaurant hand-in-hand.
Zachary asked, “Do you want to go for a night ride?”
“There’s work tomorrow. Let’s drive around nearby and go home to sleep.”
“Aren’t you taking tomorrow off?”
Zachary helped open the car door for her and said, “Neither of us are going to work tomorrow. I have to
take you to the hospital for a check-up.”
Serenity laughed. “Right, I forgot about that. Then, we’ll go to the hospital for a checkup tomorrow, then
I’ll drop by my sister’s shop and then go back to the company for a look. Elisa should have rushed over
to Annenburg. Jasmine is pregnant too, so only I can go back to the company.”
“Seren, you’re pregnant now too,” Zachary reminded her.
“I just got pregnant. Others can’t tell that I’m pregnant at all. I can still work. Besides, I just want to go
back to the office and have a look. I don’t have to do anything. We have a manager.”
The company that she, her best friend, and Elisa invested in had grown, and it currently had many
employees.
The management team gradually matured.
Soon, they would just need to go back to the company occasionally to check up on things. They did not
have to sit in the office every day.
Zachary said indulgently, “Okay, okay. You can still work. I’ll accompany you. Just tell me what work
you need done.”
Serenity snickered. “You’re the CEO of York Corporation. You earn a fortune every minute. How can I
command you to do things for me?”

Before he started to drive, Serenity leaned in, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him on
the lips, saying with deep affection, “Zachary, I love you.”
“I love you more!”
The couple kissed and grinned at each other.
“Hurry and drive home. I’ll blush if someone sees us.”
