Chapter 2004

Sonny seemed to understand, but he still looked confused.

After some time, a few cars stopped outside Liberty’s new store.

Duncan sat at the entrance, waiting for Sonny. His bodyguard stood behind the wheelchair.

Zachary opened the door and got out of the car. Then, he turned to carry Sonny out of the car.

Once Sonny’s feet touched the ground, he escaped Uncle Zak’s grip and jogged toward Duncan.

“Don’t run so quickly, Sonny.”novelbin

Duncan was anxious upon seeing that. He called Sonny not to run so fast.

At the same time, he wished he could lift Sonny. However, he could not yet walk or move fast enough

in a wheelchair.

The child ran fast. Duncan only moved his wheelchair slightly, but Sonny already arrived in front of him.

“Dunc.”

Initially, Sonny wanted to climb onto Duncan’s lap. He had already positioned himself to climb but soon

gave up because Dunc’s legs had not recovered. He could not sit on Dunc’s lap.

Duncan saw Sonny’s slight movement and felt glad.

The child already knew to care for him.

Duncan lifted Sonny and let him sit on his thighs.

“Will your legs hurt, Dunc?”

Sonny did not dare to move. He was afraid Dunc’s legs would be in pain if he did.

“I won’t feel much pain as long as I don’t walk.”

“Oh.”

Sonny let out a breath of relief. The tension in him dissipated.

“When did you come back?”

Duncan lowered his head and caressed Sonny’s face with his own. “I missed you so much.”

“I just came back with Aunt Ser not long ago and went to pick up Uncle Zak from work. Dunc, Uncle

Zak said we’re bringing you and Mom to have a meal together. I missed you sometimes too.”

Zachary and Serenity walked over. When they heard Sonny’s words, Zachary said, “You’re so biased,

Sonny. You said you had so much fun that you didn’t even miss your mom or me. Why would you think

of Duncan occasionally?”

Sonny’s big eyes gleamed. He said like it was a matter of course, “Dunc is a patient. A patient has to

be treated gently.”

Everyone laughed.

Duncan said with a smile, “If so, was it a lie when you said you thought of me occasionally? However,

even if it was a lie, it was a white lie. I was happy when I heard it.”

Sonny saw everyone laughing at him. He buried his face in Duncan’s embrace embarrassedly.

Liberty came out of the store with her bag. She was ready to go for a meal with her sister and brother-

in-law.

“Sonny, why are you sitting on Duncan’s lap? Get down now. Duncan will be in pain.”

When Liberty saw her son sitting on Duncan’s thighs, she worried it would hurt Duncan. She quickly

called her son to get down.
