Chapter 2005

Duncan hugged the child tight. He told Liberty, “The pain isn’t that bad now. I only feel it in my legs

when I walk. It’s fine when Sonny sits like this.”

Liberty said, “You have to voice out if you feel unwell. Don’t hold it in.”

As she spoke, she still carried her son away from Duncan. Only then did she greet Zachary and

Serenity.

“Liberty.”

Serenity gave her sister a hug.

After the sisters hugged each other, Serenity observed Liberty and said, “We haven’t met for only

several days, but I feel like you’re different.”

Liberty laughed. “What’s different? I’m still the same.”

“Mom, I’m hungry,” Sonny told Liberty.

Next, Serenity lifted her nephew and said to her sister, “Liberty, Mr. Lewis, let’s go and eat.”

“Okay.”

Zachary went behind Duncan and pushed his wheelchair while Duncan’s bodyguard walked with

Zachary’s team.

Liberty and Serenity were in front, accompanying Sonny.

Zachary asked his friend in a whisper, “Has there been progress between you and my sister-in-law? I

didn’t notice anything before, but now that Serenity mentioned it, I realized my sister-in-law became

more beautiful and charming.”

Duncan chuckled. “Do you think it’s because of me? Liberty still hasn’t accepted my feelings. We’re still

friends. Although I wish her beauty would bloom for me, it’s unfortunately not the case.”

“She has her career now and is full of confidence. Without her family dragging her down, she’s been

living her days peacefully in a good mood. That made people think she had changed a lot and become

exceptionally pretty. Of course, she was never ugly to begin with.”

Zachary grinned. “It seems like we share the same thoughts. It’s the same for my Serenity. I think she

gets even prettier as her career progresses and she becomes more confident.”

They went to Wiltspoon Hotel for their meal.

After the meal, Duncan offered to give Liberty and Sonny a ride home. However, he was rejected by

Liberty. Considering that it was inconvenient for him to move around, he finally gave up.

Liberty drove and brought her son home. Zachary and Serenity went shopping before returning home.

As absence made the heart grow fonder, Zachary clung to his wife for most of the night before falling

asleep with satisfaction.

Serenity rested at home for two days after returning from her travels. When preschool started on the

first day of September, she sent Sonny to school with her sister. Seeing the child wearing his new

uniform and being brought into school by his teacher, Serenity could not help but sigh. “Time flies. It

feels like Sonny was just born yesterday. He turned three in the blink of an eye. He’s even attending

preschool now.”

Liberty moved her gaze only when her son’s figure could no longer be seen. She said, “We’re growing

older as Sonny grows bigger.”

“You’re not old. You’re still very young.”

Liberty said with a smile, “I meant we’re getting older day by day. I’m not old yet, and I won’t admit I’m

old even twenty years later. We have to keep a youthful mindset. I often feel like I’m an eighteen-year-

old now.”

Serenity laughed.

She hooked onto her sister’s arm intimately and walked back. As they walked, she said, “I feel like I

haven’t grown up and still need you chasing after me to feed me food.”

When she was young and their parents were out working, it had always been her sister who fed her.

She was already five or six, but her sister had to chase after her with a bowl and feed her occasionally.

It would take half an hour to finish her food. If she were slow, it could even take up to an hour.novelbin

Liberty often said Serenity was a slow eater when she was young. However, despite needing to be

chased after and fed, Serenity became a food-lover after she grew up.

“To me, you’re always my baby sister. You’re going to the bookstore today, right? I’m going to All You

Can Eat to have a look too.”

“Drive carefully, Liberty.”
