Chapter 1995

Donald took Kevin to go fishing. The two of them fished for the whole afternoon.

In the evening, they returned home with two buckets.

Donald’s bucket had over ten fish, whereas Kevin’s had tens of fish.

“Kev, you’re so good at fishing. We were both fishing with the same rod and the same bait, but why did

the fish always go to your side and take your bait? This is the least I’ve caught since I started liking

fishing.”

Donald walked and complimented Kevin for knowing how to fish.

Kevin responded with a smile, “Donnie, I was just lucky. Perhaps the fish came to my bait because I’m

good-looking.”

Donald laughed out loud. “Yes, yes, yes, you’re young and handsome. Even the fish are charmed by

you. Kev, what else do you know?”

“Donnie, I think you should ask what I don’t know. My brothers and I are multi-talented. My nana said

it’s always good to have more skills. We learned everything we wanted to learn and those we didn’t

want to learn.

“In a way, we’re well-versed artistically and academically, but whether we master any of them or not is

another story.”

Donald commented, “Your nana is known for raising children. Your father’s generation and yours were

raised by her. Each one of you is outstanding.”

“Donnie, you’re overpraising her. You and Mrs. Queen are also good at raising children—Hayden and

Hugh are particularly excellent. I believe every elder in Jensburg envies you.”

The compliments from Kevin made Mr. Donald grin so much that he could not close his mouth.

He asked Kevin, “Are you going to grill all these small fish? I’ll ask the housekeeper to prepare more

ingredients, and we’ll have a barbeque tonight. I’ll call Hayden, Hugh, and Sophia to come home. The

more, the merrier.”novelbin

As Donald said that, he called Hayden. Hayden was getting ready to leave work when she received a

call from her dad. She asked in a low voice, “Dad, is something wrong?”

“Can’t I call you if nothing is wrong? You’re done with work, right? Do you have any social

engagements tonight? Even if you do, cancel it. Ask your brother to come home for dinner too. We’re

having a barbeque. It’ll only be nice if we have more people.”

Hayden replied to him, “Dad, I have an engagement, so I can’t go home to have dinner with you. If you

think there aren’t enough people, call my cousins. I guarantee it’ll be lively at home.”

She had more than ten cousins.

Donald said, “That’s too noisy. Cancel your engagement or arrange for someone else to go. Come

home. You only care about work every day and don’t keep your parents company. We’re getting old,

yet our children are always not home. We’ll feel lonely.

“Oh, Kev is here. We went fishing in the afternoon and caught many fish. Kev wants to grill them, but I

thought it’d be too boring, so I asked the kitchen to prepare more ingredients for a barbeque.

“Hay, you have no idea how capable Kev is. He’s too good at fishing—he caught half a bucket of fish.

Quickly come home and try his grilled fish later. He said he’s a good cook.”

Hayden’s face darkened after she heard that. She asked in a low and cold voice, “Dad, when did he go

over? He ruined your son’s reputation, yet you went fishing with him. Why didn’t you shoo him away?!”

No wonder Kevin stopped disturbing her in the afternoon.

It turned out that he went fishing with her dad.

Her parents were fond of Kevin, to begin with, and wanted to set them up. They only held back after

she saved herself.

However, now that Kevin was pursuing her, her parents must be snickering.

“I told you he came over this afternoon to go fishing with me. How did he ruin your reputation? He just

likes you and is boldly pursuing you. Hay, I’m not afraid of you being angry at me. Honestly, I admire

Kev.

“Give him a chance and get along with him. You’ll notice his merits after some time—he’s truly full of

merits.”

Hayden was speechless.

“Hurry up and come home. Remember to call Hugh too. If you don’t come back, it won’t be good if I talk

nonsense after getting drunk with Kev.”

Donald hung up after that.

Hayden was infuriated by the last thing her dad said.

He was thinking of betraying her!

Did he want to marry her off that badly?
