Chapter 1993

Kevin said with a smile as he got out of the car, “Okay.”

Donald saw that he brought many things over and told him, “Kev, don’t buy so many things when you

come in the future. Our family doesn’t lack anything, but if anything at all, we’re lacking two people—my

two children are still single.”

Kevin giggled and responded, “As long as you and your missus don’t mind, I can take up one of those

spots.”

“Can you? Will your family agree to it?”

“I make my own decisions.”

Donald was relieved.

He and his wife originally had their eyes on Kevin and wanted him to be their son-in-law.

They only dropped the idea when Hayden told them that Kevin had a wife candidate. Who knew, he

suddenly started pursuing Hayden passionately by sending her flowers and gifts every day.

Well, it had only been two days.novelbin

Nonetheless, to the Queens, the two days that Kevin pursued Hayden felt like two years.

“Donnie, is Mrs. Queen not at home?”

Kevin asked because Donald went out by himself.

His future parents-in-law had a good relationship with each other. If one of them went out alone, it

meant that the other one was not at home.

“She has a friend’s birthday today, and she was invited to a lunch party. They’re all women, so I didn’t

tag along. Besides, she doesn’t want me to follow her either. She said it was a gathering with her best

friends when she was younger, so they’ll be talking a lot more.”

Donald took the gifts from Kevin and nagged him again for wasting money. He exhorted Kevin not to

buy so many things next time, or he would not be allowed in.

The two of them entered the house together.

Donald leaned against Kevin and whispered, “Kev, I suspect that Sophia and her friends are gathering

to talk bad about their husbands, so they don’t need to be accompanied by us. In the past, what they

wanted most was the company of their husbands.

“If work gets so busy that we don’t come home for a few days, they’d suspect we were keeping

mistresses outside and would want to cling to us like little pendants. Given how unusual they are today,

they must be talking behind our backs.”

Kevin responded with a smile, “Donnie, you treat your wife so well and never did anything wrong to her,

so she won’t talk bad about you. She must be praising you to others.”

Donald thought about how he and his wife had been married for years and had two understanding and

capable children. He chuckled and said, “Well, I guess I was thinking too much.”

His wife would not talk bad about him.

After entering the house, Donald asked Kevin, “Do you want some water?”

“No, I’m not thirsty. Donnie, if you want to go fishing, let’s go early and see if we can catch some big

fish so we can braise them when we’re back.”

Donald liked that Kevin did not treat him as an outsider. After putting down the things, he went to bring

some fishing tools and handed them to Kevin. “Mine are in my car, so these are for you. I’ll fish at a

nearby creek. The water is extremely clear, and there are many fish, but they’re not big.

“I’m afraid we won’t be able to make braised fish, but grilled fish is likelier.”

“Then we’ll have grilled fish. I’m good at grilling.”

As the two of them walked outside the house, Kevin boasted, “Donnie, I’ll cook a few dishes tonight.

Ask Hayden and her brother to come home for dinner.”

It was time to show his cooking skills as the third son of the Yorks.

Since he was in charge of the catering business, his cooking skills were the best among his brothers.

Donald stopped in his tracks.

He turned to look at Kevin.

Kevin also stopped and stared at Donald.

For a moment, Donald quickly checked out his surroundings to make sure that nobody else was

present. He curiously asked in a soft voice, “Kev, did you just say Hayden and her brother? Are you

implying that Hay is a woman?”

Kevin asked him in return, “Is she not?”
