Chapter 1878

It was said that the ladies of Annenburg always wanted to marry into the Johnsons.

On the other hand, the woman of Wiltspoon would rack their brains to become a missus of the Yorks.

Not only were they after the Yorks’ wealth and status, but they were also after the loyalty of the men in

the family.

After strolling around half of FC Manor, Serenity and Jane were tired. They tacitly agreed to go back

and stopped walking.

Sonny was still a small child and could not walk so long. Serenity had to carry him on her back on their

way back.novelbin

Serenity, who was carrying the little one, said to Jane, “This is the time I miss Zachary more. If he were

here, I wouldn’t need to carry Sonny.”

Jane laughed out loud.

“Mr. York would be sad if he heard that. He’ll surely say that you only think of him because of guys from

other families.”

Serenity blushed slightly and asked Jane in return, “Mr. Young-Johnson must often complain about you

too, am I right? Guys of other families—your tone is so similar to my man.”

“That’s not true. Ben just often complains and is jealous. He thinks that I’m treating our son too well. He

said that our son will be a man of another family in the future, whereas he’s my man, so he wants me to

put him first at all times.”

Serenity noted, “There’s a reason Zachary and him are friends—they’re the same.”

“Do you want me to help you carry Sonny for a while?”

Jane made a gesture to carry Sonny from Serenity’s back.

Serenity immediately stopped her and said, “You just gave birth not long ago, so you can’t get tired. I

can carry him—he doesn’t weigh much.”

Sonny had fallen asleep. Worried that the little one would fall, Serenity had bent forward a little to

prevent him from falling, making it a little harder to walk.

Since Serenity refused the offer, Jane did not force her. Nonetheless, Jane made an internal call and

asked the housekeeper to arrange for someone to come over in an electric vehicle.

Before long, a maid came over in an electric vehicle.

“Mrs. Young-Johnson.”

The maid parked the car and respectfully greeted Jane.

“Give me the keys to the electric vehicle.”

The maid handed the car keys to Jane. With that, Jane rode the vehicle and took Serenity, who held

the sleeping Sonny in her arms, back to the main house.

“The manor is too huge. Next time, let’s cycle and go around the entire manor.”

Serenity replied, “Whenever I go back to Wildridge Manor, I cycle with Zachary to go around the manor.

We can enjoy the beautiful view and exercise at the same time.”

“But Zachary’s cycling skills are a bit poor. When I sit at the back of his bicycle, I’m always worried that

it’ll flip. I’ll quickly jump off whenever the front of his bicycle becomes wobbly.”

Jane could imagine that scene.

Zachary might have ridden a bicycle in his childhood, but he only got around in luxury cars after that. If

not because he married a grounded wife, he probably would not touch a bicycle anymore, so it was

normal for him to have poor riding skills.

Back in the main house, Sonny, who had fallen asleep, remained sound asleep. As for Jane, she

brought serenity to visit Lilian in the hospital.

It was not Serenity’s first time meeting Dr. Carden, but she was always afraid of her. She dared not be

too close to Dr. Carden and also felt that she was a little strict.

Zachary said that Dr. Carden was the legendary doctor’s only disciple. She was adopted by the

legendary doctor, who raised her as his own. Not only was Dr. Carden highly skilled in medicine, but

she was also a toxicologist—she was brilliant in both medicine and poison. Compared to the legendary

doctor, everyone was more afraid of offending Dr. Carden.

While she could provide the antidote to them in the case they were poisoned by her, the pain of being

tortured by the poison was enough to numb one’s scalp, leaving a lifelong trauma.

Lilian could have been discharged soon after giving birth, but her husband gently coaxed her to stay in

the hospital for two more days. She could not stand the handsome man’s coaxing and agreed to it.
